I usually enjoy Ledo Pizza, but this last experience really missed the mark. I ordered the cheesy bread expecting their classic, fresh-baked style what I got instead looked and tasted exactly like frozen Texas toast you’d buy from a grocery store freezer section. Not toasted well and definitely not what they used to serve as cheesy bread.
If I wanted store bought Texas toast, I could have made it at home for a fraction of the price. It feels like a lazy shortcut and a downgrade from what used to be one of the better sides on the menu. Cutting corners like this just cheapens the whole experience.
The restaurant was awesome. The service was great and the food was delicious!!
Small pepperoni pizza had very little sauce, it was cheese, crust & pepperoni , this happens @ times @ this location
We switched to the LaPlata location after COVID because Waldorf seemingly couldn't make a pizza without burning it and it was often difficult to get someone to answer the phone. Since then, I order from LaPlata every Sunday, and we also celebrate my kids' birthdays there. We've NEVER had a problem; even when they're slammed the waitress (I'm sorry, I don't know her name) is always on her game. I deal with the same people every week and they're always pleasant. I see a bunch of negative reviews and I'm more inclined to believe the majority are just miserable people who either want something for nothing or just want to complain. It's a pizza place... if you want a 5-star dining experience and gourmet meals, then go to Old Town Alexandria and pay $125-150 for a meal.
Excellent place for pizza and family outing
My absolute favorite pizza place! We're never disappointed.
Interesting rectangular pizza with a thin crust.

I visited Ledo for lunch with my baby niece and had an unpleasant experience. I ordered the lunch special pizza, but noticed that patrons who ordered after me were served their food first. It took 30 minutes for my pizza to arrive, which was frustrating.
After eating, while waiting for the bill, I noticed a black spot in the Parmesan cheese jar. I shook the jar to get a better look and realized it was a gnat. When I brought this to the manager's attention, he opened the lid, let the gnat out, and then placed the jar back on the counter without addressing the contamination. He offered to charge me half price for the meal, but that didn’t feel like an appropriate response given the situation.
This experience left me concerned about the cleanliness and handling practices at this establishment. I would recommend extreme caution if you choose to dine here.

I stopped going to the location in Waldorf and started coming here instead. I'm much happier to patronize this location after the Waldorf location changed management.
