I'm confused, either someone is posting false reviews, or the residents of Cumberland have never actually tasted good Chinese food. Im very disappointed because Banana leaf was my last chance to find decent Chinese food in the area. Guess I will need to start looking in Hagerstown. Please save your money, or get a pizza.

Perfect detour immediately off the highway. Quick stop, good food, good portions, good price. Next time, I will order the spicy general sews. The medium did not have any spice. The spring rolls are small, but they're flavorful.

This is an American Chinese restaurant, they don’t know how to make Thai food. If you are from a metro area, you know the difference between Thai food, Americanized Chinese food and Chinese food. Do yourself a favor and don’t stop by if you are traveling. The McDonalds across the street or the Cracker Barrel around the corner will be better for you and your stomach will thank you later. If you live near this restaurant and you have no other options for East Asian food, still, don’t come here. Drive an hour east of here and you’ll find better Chinese and Thai food! For the management reading this review please serve what you advertise and don’t take advantage of your customers.

Girl, don’t do it! They won’t comp off your food if you don’t like it. We tried and the server said people tried to return their food before and management wouldn’t allow it. My friend got $5/$10 off the check but the food was not editable. This is not a Thai restaurant. The first red flag was that the “Thai ice tea” was seasonal. This is more like a Chinese restaurant where the chicken is dark meat and bad quality. Panada express has better food than this place. I sat down and immediately decided I’d order vegetarian and I was right. My boyfriend ordered a chicken dish and other friends ordered green curry that looked like water and the chicken was rubbery and dark. You can smell the bathroom from the main dining room area. I couldn’t wait to get out of this place. This is the middle of nowhere Maryland so I’d just stick to American food until you get to the real part of Maryland lol.

I think more people need to know this location even exists. This quaint little restaurant hides itself in between Denny's and KFC. This is without a doubt the best Asian food in the Western Maryland area. I have never in my life had a meal so flavorful. It's almost shocking comparing to the more mediocre restaurants that we have eaten that for years. You receive your food lightning quick. At a speed that almost puts most fast food places to shame. I recommend you try the Mongolian triple delight a nice and spicy delightful meal. Please give this place a try with the quality of food and service that they put out they've earned every bit of business they'll ever get from me and I hope from you.

Pretty bad. Not quite as bad as the place in Frostburg. Marginally better. If you like tough, giant onion slivers dominating your dish go here. Another cheap "onion joint" in the Cumberland area. I've lived lots of places and eaten at many Chinese places. I've also lived 5 years in Japan. I know what good Asian food is and what isn't. If you want good Asian food in this local area where it seems limited, go to the big buffet in Lavale, and carry out if you can't dine in. I think they even make up dishes fresh not found on the buffet for takeout. I got a "seafood" dish called Mongolian something here at the Leaf. It was all big hard onions with a whole three medium shrimp, and some mushy chicken and beef. At least it wasn't $15, but then again it wasn't worth the $12 either. Their shrimp fried rice was fairly standard, but it at least had all the ingredients, carrots, peas, little scrambled egg, little onions, and right amount of small shrimp for under $10. The cheapo place in Frostburg gives you onions and about three small shrimp in their fried rice with no vegetables or egg, etc. for $14. Good places use more broccoli and other vegies rather than overloading with onions because broccoli costs more than cheap onions. This place's Wonton soup looked good through the container, though I didn't try it. I'd say it's better than the place in Frostburg and with lower pricing, but it's not as good as the buffet across the highway on the other side.

Overall I’d say this place is great!! Just keep in your mind that it might not be exactly what you’re used to in terms of Thai cuisine but we’re in Western MD where there’s not a lot of options. HUGE portions, friendly staff, and my order was done in 15 minutes. We got the Thai cashew chicken, panang curry, Thai tea, and shrimp toast. My only critique would be that the Thai dishes were more reliant on spice for flavor…like mostly just spice. I usually have a brown gravy/sauce with the cashew chicken but this was more of a red spicy one. The curry was also thin, like another reviewer said “like soup” but we had a LOT of leftovers and I’m hoping I can thicken it up at home for dinner the next day. It looks like the restaurant is Chinese/Thai so it makes sense if the Thai has some influence from the other menu items so don’t let that scare you off, the food was great and surprised me, I will totally be back.

Any of the Thai food I’ve ordered here has really been bad!! It doesn’t taste like any Thai food I’ve had anywhere else. It has very little flavor at all. No texture. Do yourself a favor and avoid the Thai menu. However the regular Chinese food isn’t bad. The crab meat wontons and all of the typical run-of-the-mill Chinese food here- is up to par with the rest of the places in town. But the Thai food is horrible. I’ve gotten it twice now out of sheer desperation because this town needs some good Thai food. And both times I regretted it and I ended up throwing all of the food out. ?

This business most have changed hands. The food is not as good as it used to be. Ordered tofu with snow Peas. Had to send it back because it was very hot with red pepper and tofu was fried hard. Second time Peas were overcooked and once again, tofu to hard to chew. I doubt I will be back. Very disappointed.

Great place but when I dined in seemed like less food on the plate than carry out. Usually when I dine in it's a bigger plate wasn't happy about it.

This is our favorite local Asian restaurant. The veggies are consistently fresh, and the flavors are always outstanding. The inside is intimate (read: relatively small), but the service is good. Take-out is a fantastic option, and we call ahead for take-out several times a month. Priced competitively against the fast food around it, it's the best value around.

Food was ok. Service horrible. Ordered take out, twas told 30 mins. 55 mins later we finally had our order.

Don't judge a book by its cover. Our family loves this place! The quality and taste of the food was beyond expectations. We highly recommend eating here!

Love this place! Everytime I order they repeat my order back to me just to make sure everything is correct and they are always very polite. Food is consistently great!! Highly recommend!
