I was passing through Leonardtown exploring Southern Maryland while looking for employment in the area, and I decided to order lunch at Crabknockers. The staff I encountered were very friendly and helpful, and offered me a menu to look over their prepared food offerings in addition to the seafood they sell in their establishment for home cooking. I hadn't planned on ordering lunch but the menu looked very appealing and enticed me to try the fried clams. I had never had fried clams before but was amazed at how flavorful and juicy they were when I expected to taste more of the seasoning or oil than clams. They were tender, not overcooked, and absolutely delicious, not greasy or rubbery. The lunch special comes with three side items and the portions were generous enough for me to save half of my meal for dinner. In addition to identifying several dishes I would certainly order from their seafood market to prepare at home, I was pleasantly surprised with the quality, flavor, portions size and great value of their prepared foods menu. The ambiance was great with authentic seaside décor and two different specials advertised for the day: a catfish sandwich and veggie crab soup of the day. I recommend this restaurant to those passing through the area who want to try the fresh local seafood without breaking the bank or to local area residents who may not have discovered it yet. I cannot recommend their food highly enough!!! The fried clams were EPIC!!!

Customer service was great. Staff is friendly and willing to help. I got 2 dozen large male crabs and vegetable crab soup they were both delicious, and I will definitely be going back on a regular basis. I even found some frog legs ??

Some of THEE Best and Largest crabs I've had in the St. Mary's Area... new to the area from Baltimore, so let's say the crabs a plentiful there. Moving here it was hard to find the right spot... but Crabknockers saved the day! Always great and friendly service. And the crabs are absolutely Devine!

This place has the highest quality seafood around! The majority of their products are locally sourced. My favorites are the snakehead and soft-shell crab sandwich. Amazing service, the owner is great. They even have coin-operated arcade games.

We were visiting family in the area over Labor Day weekend and my brother-in-law told me it was blue crab season. So of course, I requested it for one of our meals during our visit. We did try to catch them ourselves, but they weren't biting! LOL. Instead of going out to eat at a restaurant, I suggested we do a takeout order to be able to take our time and fully enjoy at home. Years ago, we had the crabs at a restaurant and it took me HOURS to pick them! I think my brother-in-law felt bad (and the rest of the family was getting impatient) and started picking the last few for me, because it was taking soooooo long! He suggested we go to Crab Knockers, a local seafood shop that sells fresh seafood, but that also cooks it for you! Inside, they have old arcade games with a fishing themed decor. They have a case full of seafood with a combo of locally sourced and brought in from other places. The shop was quite busy with a steady flow of patrons. We got 2 dozen blue crabs, steamed with J.O. seasoning (medium spice) and it came out to roughly $60! It took about 20-25 minutes or so. When we got home, we got right to work. My brother-in-law showed me the proper way Marylanders (is that the proper term?) and I think I got the hang of it by the 3rd crab hahaha. Even my oldest managed well! Crabs were delicious! Some claws were a little overcooked, but that's just the nature of seafood and takeout. The body meat was perfect! There is a lot of work for these little guys, but it fed me and my oldest as our only dinner and a few other family members who ate one or two. We even had enough crab meat for two crab cakes for breakfast the next day! I highly suggest checking them out. It's less expensive and less work in terms of cooking (and mess)! I'll definitely ask for crabs again next time we visit! Enjoy and go out and support!
Consistently having great tasting crabs is in my opinion.... what Crabknockers should be known for. Lube this place

March 31st 2023 I had a huge event 135 people!! I called Crabknockers. Placed an order. They were so professional and the nicest people. Quote: owner and his wife. They delivered on time. Those crabs were awesome. I give them 6 stars on this!!! 2024. I'm definitely getting them again for the big trail ride.❤️?

Always great service and great food at reasonable prices! Never disappointed with what I order. The crab soup, crab cakes, fries, soft shell sandwiches never disappoint! Glad we have this place nearby.
