While visiting family in the area we stop by Plaza.
It was a nice atmosphere for an afternoon lunch. The employees give that neighborhood feel to all the regulars.
We sat at the bar and enjoyed our massive margs and some fresh guac. In addition I ordered chicken and shrimp fajitas. Needless to say I had more than enough and the lunch easily became my dinner/ late night snack.
Overall Plaza Azteca is a cool local spot, I ended up here twice on that visit.

If you decide to go for the massive marg make sure you have a designated driver.

I won't be coming back. I work across the street on Pax River base. Thought I was going over for some quick tacos and Berea for lunch while I was eating. A live roach crawled from underneath my taco wrapper on my plate. I Showed the waitress, The live roach crawling across my plate and table owner came over asked if everything was all right. The waitress told him there was a cockroach underneath my napkins so he proceeded to Smash it with the napkins, wiped it across the table and told me I didn't have to pay for the meal but wanted me to pay for my drink.

Sat at the bar thinking it would be faster for one person. I was wrong. 30 minutes before someone acknowledged that I was there. Only one person behind the bar making drinks for the entire restaurant as well as the bar. 15 minutes after my drink arrived then they asked if I wanted to eat. Ate dinner, never asked how the food was. I wanted a refill on my drink, it took another 15 minutes after I finished my dinner before they came back. Won’t be back anytime soon. Should have 2 people behind the bar during busy times.

Plaza is on of my favorite local spots to dine but the service there recently is trash u went there to enjoy a evening out with friends and was treated so disgustingly by the management itself I ordered a Philly steak burrito and I asked for no onions or mushrooms when I got my food there were huge chunks of peppers in the burrito that I was also sharing with my 3 year old I asked the manager if I could please get remake wide to the huge peppers I told him I would have requested them out of I knew they cut them that big his response was well your food is already made and rolled his eyes so then I had to state the obvious my 3 year old can’t chew these large chunks of peppers we need a new one this time just leave the peppers out please he goes to the back brings out a new one that was poorly made the manager brought it to my table slide it across to me without purposely avoiding eye contact he didn’t apologize or anything only for me I felt very disrespected and I honestly didn’t want to pay for something I just wasn’t satisfied with but I didn’t want to cause a scene so I took it on the chin and paid my bill but I can tell you this I will never ever in god green earth celebrate another birthday taco Tuesday NOTHING in this nasty establishment

The menu is the basics you would expect but they do it well. The rice and beans are on point. Everything is full of flavor. My favorites were the Elote and the Chicken Chorizo

The service was excellent. Our waitress was very attentive and anticipated our needs. The food was delicious with generous portions. I had elote and empanadas and a mango margarita..... Didn't even make it to the main course. Brought the food home thought and it was good for lunch the next day.

Okay, listen to me—this is not Mexican food. This is what happens when people say, “I love tacos!” but think cumin is too spicy.
We came because of the famous white sauce—people here act like it was blessed by the Virgin Mary herself. It’s… fine. Like ranch that got lost at a quinceañera. The chips were straight from a bag, but they tried their best.
Then came the “Mexican Fried Rice,” which should be sued for false advertising. It was plain rice, steamed broccoli and cauliflower (yes, cauliflower), and a splash of queso that looked tired. The steak and chicken on top? Dry. Bland. Like they spent time in witness protection.
And the table? The table leaned so hard I thought it was trying to throw our food away before we could taste it. Honestly, it might’ve been doing us a favor.
I asked for spicy salsa. The server nodded toward a bottle of Tapatío hiding behind the drink menu like it was contraband.
You want the white sauce? Get it to-go. But if you sit down for a full meal, just know—you’ve been warned.
The staff were very polite and efficient. It's kid friendly and the food was great.
