We absolutely love Tacos Hernandez! The food is outstanding and the two ladies that work there are very kind. You can tell it’s truly authentic Mexican food and the sauces that come with are incredible. This might be the best tacos I’ve ever had (outside of Mexico).

I had an absolutely wonderful experience with a special takeout order from Tacos Hernandez. I placed an order for 12 tamales (6 green, 6 red) about a week in advance. Due to a small miscommunication, the order wasn’t confirmed for the exact date I needed. When I arrived and realized what had happened, the women working there were incredibly polite, professional, and apologetic. They immediately took ownership of the situation and began preparing my order right away.

What really stood out was how accommodating and kind they were. They acknowledged the mix-up without excuses and genuinely did everything they could to fulfill my order. They even offered me food while I waited—an incredibly thoughtful gesture that I truly appreciated, even though I couldn’t eat since I was on my way to dinner.

The wait was 100% worth it. I was in a rush and could have easily canceled, but I really wanted to try authentic Mexican tamales—and I’m so glad I didn’t. While I can’t personally speak to authenticity, my friend from Mexico tried them and confirmed they’re the real deal. The tamales were delicious, rich in flavor, and clearly made with care.

Great food paired with genuine hospitality goes a long way, and Tacos Hernandez delivered on both. I will definitely be returning to try more items from their menu. Highly recommend!

Let me start by saying I never leave reviews.
So for me to leave a review there might be some weight. I'm a foodie and I can always find a way to love food.

Mom and Pop Mexican spot. Super authentic and warm people. They asked if I wanted to try some of their new items coming on the menu. I felt like I was a kid again. Great soups, homemade sauces, iconic staple foods if you actually grew up with a Mexican family or neighbor

Keep a lookout for their specials as GrubHub doesn't typically update.

This weekend in particular they have some rich bone broth soups that are absolutely insane.

As for me, I got the Birria quesadillas, And a mixed bag of street tacos.

This is the best Mexican food in SOMD and arguably the east coast. I grew up on AZ and lived in CA, and the thing I miss the most on the east coast is good Mexican food. Don’t let the outside fool you; small family run business on the inside that cooks authentic food. My favorite is the breakfast burrito, but I have yet to be disappointed by anything on the menu. I hope they follow the path of Yummy’s (previous occupant of the building) and continue to grow!
