Service was a bit slow.

Great value for a great lunch. It was just enough but the drink was extremely small. That chicken sandwich was really good.I would like to sit and eat not in my car but all is good.

I would like to start by acknowledging that the cashier who took my order—listed as Tykeya on my receipt—was very personable and courteous. However, I observed some concerning behavior from the kitchen staff during my visit.

There were three employees visible: two working in the kitchen and one at the register. While the cashier was actively assisting customers and managing the line, the two cooks—a male and a female—appeared disengaged. At one point, the male employee was scrolling on his phone. More concerning, I witnessed the two cooks sampling food with their bare hands, after which the male employee licked his fingers before both employees proceeded to put on gloves and resume food preparation.

I have been visiting this location for years and typically have modest expectations, but this experience was troubling. Observing multiple food safety violations—especially in a location that serves a wide range of customers, including vulnerable individuals—is unacceptable.

I hope this matter can be addressed appropriately to ensure the continued health and safety of your customers.

I asked for a refund.

I haven't been to checkers in probably 10 years. I was stoked to find one so close to my house. I stopped by grabbed a bunch of food and there was a slight problem with my order, but these ladies handled it promptly and had excellent customer service.I definitely will be returning and recommend them to anybody in the area.

They close at 12. I arrived at 11:45 after a very late work night. After I ordered and paid, another car pulled in and ordered. As soon as that order hit their screens, the woman working inside yelled to the man at the window “we close in 15 minutes!!” I can clearly hear her as the window is open I’m being handed my drink. She keeps ranting on and asks if there are any more cars. Once he answers, she then tells him to tell whoever pulls up next “we’re not taking no more orders, we’re closed!!”

Now, I would never show up to a sit down restaurant 15 minutes before they close, because the experience is expected to take longer than that. But for a drink, fries and a sandwich at a fast food restaurant, it shouldn’t take 15 minutes, more like 5.

As she’s making my food I’m watching her continue to storm around, clearly ticked off. She’s slamming things around, tossing the the fry scoop (which she didn’t even use bc I’m assuming it had already been cleaned in her pre-close efforts) and shouted again in frustration when a third car pulled up, still 8 minutes to close, and right before she comes to the window.

She then hands my bag out with a sour face, doesn’t make eye contact but can see me, and doesn’t say a word. Normally I would say thank you when I’m handed something, even when I don’t expect to get a “your welcome” back, which is so often the case at fast food places these days. But apparently my face betrayed my disappointment because she looked at me expectantly then and raise her eyebrows.

I pettily apologized for bothering them and wished her a good evening. She got defensive and said “what, I didn’t say nothing, I yelled because I just burned my hand that’s why I shouted” and I said back “no, I’m talking about before the yell a few seconds ago when the 3rd car pulled in….We can hear you out here yelling about it being ridiculous that we’ve come 15 minutes before close. So, again, I’m sorry I bothered you all, and I hope you have a good night.”

Now all of this was said by me with disappointment and was clearly not sincere, but I felt so unwelcome and felt like she should know. She did shout out the window after me as I pulled away to have a good night, just as aggressively as I would have expected, and also not sincere (understandably lol).

Look, I get it, it’s late and you want to go home. But everything online and on your signs says you’re open until 12. If you don’t want to work that late, don’t. Go work at a fast food place that closes at 10. There are plenty that would happily have you work in their kitchen. But don’t make your guests feel bad for coming within your open hours.

Anyway, I guess my point is, if you find yourself hungry late at night, you’re not welcome there after they’ve started pre-close. I’d assume that’s no later than 11:30p but probably closer to 11. Assume the food won’t be fresh and the service won’t be with a smile.

As far as the food, it was clearly made and sitting in warmers for a long time. It was dry and hard. The fries were underdone. The soda was good.

On the upside, the man at the window was polite and while didn’t look happy, he wasn’t hostile either. Thank goodness for small miracles.

Just take out, the chicken was tough and unappetizing. The sauce provided made it palatable.

I absolutely love Checkers! The service is always fast and friendly, and the food is consistently delicious. The fries are perfectly crispy. I also appreciate how they make sure your order is fresh and hot every time. Whether I'm on the go or just craving a great meal, Checkers never disappoints. Highly recommend this spot, you won’t be let down!

I went to Checkers to try the “T-Pain For Real Meal”, and I’m not sure T-Pain would have approved. I mean, come to think of it I don’t know that much about T-Pain’s background or personal preferences, so I could be completely wrong there. Billionaires eat McDonald’s on private jets, so what do I know?

The sauce on the sandwich was delicious and plentiful; I bet even T-Pain would have liked to have a napkin or two. Cherry Coke was on point and the Apple Pie stole the show.
