I would NOT eat at this place even if you PAID ME!!! The owner is super RUDE! He always complains he is the only person working in the restaurant and thinks that’s an excuse for his behavior. One person cooking, waiting tables, doing the register it is COMPLETELY INSANE! STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS!

We haven't been here in a few years and stopped by today at lunchtime. There was one other table occupied when we walked in. I'm used to seeing this place packed at this time of day on a weekend, so that was my first clue something was amiss. Almost all the tables had signs making them as closed. We sat down and the server came by fairly quickly to take our drink order. It took longer than expected to get our coffees. They were horrible: bitter, burned, and old tasting. We asked to swap the coffee for some ice tea and that turned out just as bad: sour and old tasting. It took about 45 minutes for our food to arrive. These were simple breakfast orders and there were very few people in the restaurant. I'm rather baffled at how long it took for the food to arrive. The veggies in my omelet were uncooked and cool. The ham was a slice or two of lunch meat. The pancakes were good and my wife's order was OK, not great, but passable. All-in-all, this was a sad and disappointing experience. I don't plan on coming back and recommend you pass it up as well.

This place is a little depot of hospitality and coziness as the owner "Scott" holds firmly to the old ways in terms of welcoming all and cooking to the desires of his guests. The customers are treated to the friendliness of the young waitress - "Devon" - and occasionally have the opportunity to engage Scott's wisdom when he is not busy at the grill. We make it a regular stop whenever we come down from DC. We recommend it wholly as a warm and welcoming spot for a great breakfast and some southern Maryland charm. Joel R.

I would give zero stars if possible I will never go back. I tell you that! I walked in and most of the tables inside the door had signs that said closed on half the restaurant me and my kids just stood there waiting for somebody to address us I finally had to ask where I could be seated because the one girl that was there did not speak up, greet us or anything like that.. not to mention when I ask for cream chip beef, which is what I came there for I was told they’re not making it anymore because it’s not turning out right and they’re having a problem with the recipe. Even my daughter who is 10 was able to say that that sounds like a skill related issue… Not to mention when I asked them if the other meal I settled on instead of getting potatoes which it comes with if they could just give me half of that and half of the grits, a small portion of each, she went back and asked the cook who was the owner I’m assuming And was loud enough to hear him say from where we receded that yes he would do it and then he waited another 10 seconds and then proceed to say loud enough for me to hear that it is absolutely ridiculous, but he will do it. Needless to say we left and did not eat their steer clear of this place. It’s dirty in there as well. It doesn’t look clean and the attitude of the employees seem like they do not want your business or your money.

Took my family to the area a couple of weeks ago. Scott and Jean were amazing. We weren't sure what to do with our day, but Scott gave us a story of the Calvert Cliffs We left with a plan, some shark teeth, and fully planned day ahead of us. Great time! Try the rockfish!

We walked in no one to greet us. Sat down no wait staff! Sat there for 15 min no one came out of the kitchen. A few people there they all looked very unhappy, we left will never be back.

The food was bland and overpriced. Had a cheeseburger that tasted like a frozen, unseasoned patty. Kids had grilled cheeses that was not even enough cheese to fill the bread. Was one measly kraft single for $7. Skip this place.

The Frying Pan is a treasure! An old-fashioned breakfast and lunch diner.
Scott Adams cooking is a labor of love!

This place has gone downhill. Service was very slow with just two tables. The ceiling has black mold. No a.c. in 100 degree weather. Flies everywhere. The meat was not done. Asked for new. Replacement was also pink. The guy clearly doesn't use a thermometer.

The Fying Pan is a place I visit often for breakfast. If you like a rustic atmosphere this is the place for you. The waitress, Devon, is the sweetest young lady you will ever meet. The food will take some time due to there being only one cook. He cooks to order and makes sure it's made correctly. Mr. Scott is a very nice man who works hard and doesn't get a lot of credit for it. If you want a fancy restaurant, go to Solomons. If you want down home cooking and aren't in a hurry this is the place.

I've been going to this place since before I was making memories and it's been a long-time family favorite. But recently it has gone far downhill.
When we went on Sunday they told us they couldn't make the cream chipped beef or sausage gravy because of some problem with the recipe. My wife ordered hash and eggs and instead of getting actual hash like they originally had, or even the medallions which were pretty good, this time they served a gigantic slab of SPAM. If you like SPAM then I suppose it would have been tasty, but that's not what we ordered. The potatoes were very overcooked and there were pitifully few of them.
We like the old-timey church basement atmosphere, and we were okay with the long wait times when there was good food on the other end, but now there's really no reason to go back. From now on we'll drive the extra 20 minutes north to Dreamweaver where we can get twice the portions and far better quality for basically the same price.

Scott’s place is an original, as is he. It’s a one-man operation and you should be ready for some wait time, but the food is custom prepared with real care and is excellent! Even better, Scott is the rare person who says about his work that he loves it and that quality matters. The Frying Pan is a unique gem for those prepared to appreciate it.
