I’ve been to Tark’s Grill a few times now. I usually really enjoy all the food but this time not as much. We ordered the shrimp cocktail, fried oysters and tuna tartare to start. All were great, except the tuna tartare; which lacked flavor and had way too much wasabi, I was hoping for more citrus flavor.

For entrees, we ordered the seafood risotto, bronzino, and lamb burger. They were all delicious and good portions. Loved that the lamb burger came on a pita bread.

The food was very good. We had the Branzino and the rare tuna dinner. Along with the arugula salad. We enjoyed the food very much. However, the bass from the music was horrible. Either request a table that’s not near a speaker or be prepared to hear a lot of thumping. Service was very good as well. It’s a very nice local restaurant.

I had dinner here on a recent trip to Baltimore.

While the food was good what I found the most disappointing was the way I was treated by some of the staff. I have a medical service dog who obviously goes everywhere with me. My first issue was where they seated us. We were seated at a table where there was really nowhere for her to be that was out of the way. I don't think they could have seated us at a more inappropriate table. Within just a few minutes of us being seated a member of the staff came up and asked me to move her to the other side of my chair which I did and I will concede that he was very nice and apologetic when he did so.

Later in our meal a different staff member came up to the table and asked me to move her again. This person was actually borderline rude and frankly, I was less inclined to be gracious about obliging them.

My service dog is properly trained and knows how to behave in a restaurant. When she is doing her job and behaving exactly the way she should I should not be forced to accommodate a restaurant whose host/hostess doesn't have enough sense to seat me at a table where she will be out of the way of the staff and people who are walking by. If they didn't have a more appropriate table available right away they could have explained the situation and asked us to wait a little while perhaps offering us a drink at the bar for the inconvenience until one became available. I would have been more than happy to have waited with or without the drink and I would have appreciated the consideration being afforded to both me and my dog.

The other thing to know about this restaurant is that it's extremely loud. If you're looking for a more intimate experience either romantically or even just out with friends who you want to sit and chat with easily then this probably isn't the best choice.

I was in Baltimore for several weeks and during my trip I had the choice to either dine here again or go back to another restaurant I'd eaten at earlier in my trip and I chose the other restaurant just because I really didn't enjoy my experience here.

Kid-friendliness: This isn't a restaurant I would recommend bringing children to.

Tark’s has been a consistent staple for a girls night out meet up. Unfortunately, I think that has ended. The food is delicious, however on Tuesday we had finished our meal in the inside portion of the restaurant and we were chatting a bit when a MOUSE ran out the kitchen and towards our table. I am not sure if I was more shocked by the mouse, or the lack of acknowledgment from the staff and the management. A separate waiter notified his manager of the situation and we didn’t get as much as an apology for the situation. Completely unacceptable.

I recently visited this restaurant with my family, and while the food took longer than I expected to arrive, I have to say our server with the blond hair was an absolute delight. She was so attentive and friendly, making sure we had everything we needed while we waited. The drinks were really good, which helped ease the wait. It was a bit frustrating, but her warm demeanor made the experience much more pleasant. I’ll definitely consider coming back, especially if we get her as our server again!

I've only recently discovered this place. Whenever I visited Greenspring around meal times, I reflexively went to Stone Mill. However, the indifferent quality coffees have lately made me wonder if there's better to be had, and so I tried Tark's. Wow. I've been three times now - each time with no reservation and at a busy time. I've been cheerfully seated on one of the high top tables with no wait. The service has been phenomenal. The quality of the salads is way better than I was expecting. Each of the three I ordered was great, and it came out super quickly. I also had a virgin cocktail that was amazing, and now for the coffee - it's head and shoulders above the competition. served in a cute WARM cup, and brought speedily to my table. I get that with a tip, it's a bit pricier than the Stone Mill, but really, given all the price raising there, it's not THAT much more expensive but it's a whole world of difference apart - here you've got a full service restaurant experience and a cup of coffee made by someone who cares about coffee.

Hats off to the lovely guy(s) at the front who always find me a nice table. And to the waitresses who go above and beyond.

I highly recommend this place, even if you're just between appointments and looking for a quick salad and a coffee. Also, the people watching is particularly great.

We were visiting for my wife's Master's graduation and stumbled across Tark's one day. We had been recommended a few other local restaurants in the area that were okay, but a bit overpriced for the quality of food. Tark's was fantastic. It's been over a year since we were in Maryland and I still dream of the Scallops I had. Easily the best meal we had all week and will absolutely visit again the next time we're in town!

I frequent Tarks often with Family and more recently with business partners and colleagues. Usually the service is pretty good more recently I’ve noticed a decline mainly with management and the hostess. Today, I decided to grab early dinner with my partner, when we arrive the restaurant was pretty much empty which is typically unusual.

The hostess ( short blonde, I didnt get her name) seats us in the empty dinning room, before we sit down she say please make sure you’re up by 7 we have a reservation for this table. Reminder the dinning room is literally empty! I was thought it was so rude and inappropriate. I immediately decided I was not eating there. Before I left I spoke with a manager who was more than rude, he said his name was Charles. I explained to him what happened and how it was inappropriate for the hostess to say that to us, as a customer who is there NOW reservations are not my business. It’s their job to accommodate me! Instead of him trying to provide some service recovery and apologize for the delivery of the hostess he decides to argue with me instead and tells me to contact the general manager Peter because he will say the same to me. I will never patronize this restaurant again because it seems to me they don’t want people who look like me to patronize their business! I’m disappointed in how this is handled and I will never recommend this establishment to anyone ever again. If you’re looking for a place that is hospitable and makes you feel comfortable I would not visit Tarks.
