This place has some amazing food and very good service. BUT, you knew there was going to be a but: if you are going to serve Scottish salmon and the patron requests that it is lightly cooked (meaning maybe mid-rare) do NOT KILL THE FISH by cooking it beyond recognition. AND when you get a do over do better. All I could think was Gordon Ramsay was telling the chef s/he was a muppet/donkey. Please do better. The beure blanc and the veggies were awesome.

The Valley Inn is our go-to when heading to downtown for a show at the Hippodrome. There is a particular dish - the Mediterranean Skewers with Chicken - that we love! We had the dish during an earlier visit in April and liked it so much we ordered it again on our visit April 26th. It was definitely not the same quality dish and we were so very disappointed! Dry chicken, wilted, limp salad veggies - you get the picture. We were encouraged to return and give it another try, so agreed and last evening found our group of 4 dining at The Valley Inn again with everyone trying the Mediterranean Skewer dish, two of us ordered chicken, one shrimp and one beef- and I am so happy to report that the Chef DEFINITELY prepared the dish that keeps us coming back. The chicken is seasoned so well and is moist and extremely flavorful; the greek salad is one I have tried to replicate at home - that's how much I enjoy this dish! Last night it was prepared with fresh, crisp green, red and yellow peppers, cucumbers, feta cheese, kalamata olives, slivers of red onion all drizzled with olive oil. This is so delicious - for me this salad would be a great stand alone dish, particularly if it is a nice summer evening and you are seated on the outdoor patio. The beef and shrimp were also seasoned well and cooked to perfection! Thank you Valley Inn for bringing us back, can't wait to see you before the Beetlejuice play at the Hippodrome!

Overall a totally forgettable dining experience. Our first table was on the porch and the noise level was unbelievably loud. They reseated us in another room that was just fine. Our order was taken and onion soup was served - of course, for some reason, none of the tables have salt or pepper. Our server disappeared and 10 minutes later made a guest appearance. By the time she returned with the pepper, the soup was cool (not to mention not tasty as all). Later, the food servers returned with our main courses - my wife asked for additional salad dressing. Half the salad later, he returned with the requested dressing. My mahi sandwich was really tasteless. All in all an unpleasant dining experience.

Initially seated on the porch - had to yell to be able to hear each other. We and the couple next to us immediately asked to be moved to a less deafening space and we were quickly switched to another table. Service was prompt, attentive, and friendly, especially given how busy they were. Mahi Mahi sandwich was dry and overcooked, cream of crab was overly sherry flavored - not a lot of crab. Shrimp wrap meh too much lettuce, not enough flavor. Eastern Shore Cobb salad was tasty.

Even though we made a reservation more than 24hrs ahead, they stuck us right next to the kitchen. Dark corner table with no salt and pepper (had to ask for it), no candle, used our phones to see the menu. There were Many open tables at our arrival. We were asked if it was a special occasion, and it was a birthday for our guest. Except it was never brought up again. In fact, we were just glad to have her come back at all. We had to ask her to come take our drink order. Not impressed with our experience. Rockfish, seafood cob and crap soup were good.

I wish they would have less expensive red wine by the glass or by the bottle. The lease expensive bottle of red wine $64! Also, they do burgers only medium...! No medium rare...! Why?! They killed my burger...! All other food and service were great!

The service is great and the outdoor seating is awesome, but the food is corner-diner caliber, at best. Just know that the huge upcharges you're paying for are for the scene, not for the food, which isn't great.

Just ok for my family. Visited on a Saturday afternoon. Busy, but not packed. Food was good. Service was not up to par and they appeared to be understaffed. We ate in "tented" area, and there were several bees flying around.

My wife's skewered shrimp were small and only 3 were presented. Greek salad had no greens. Friend's lettuce salad needed a steak knife to cut as a dining knife could not cut it. My martini was not cold. My gumbo was tasty but the charred shrimp were over cooked and tough

Front of the House - Super. Ambassador Patti was spot-on. Organized. Professional. Helpful. Engaging. Wait Staff - Monica - menu knowledgeable. Solid recommendation on a new menu item. Meal - Farm Salad - tasty. Nuts, lettuce, tomatoes, to name a few. Recommendation - work with making the lettuce not size. Having to use a knife to eat a salad is not a positive event. Parking Lot - potential trip fall hazards remain.

Food was delicious and service was very good. Personally I felt some dishes on the menu were a bit pricey for what they were and our table was quite small and very close the table next to us. Everything is quite tightly packed together. It was a good experience though and I would go back!
