Oya Sushi is hands down the best Japanese restaurant I’ve ever been to, and I’ve tried a lot! From the moment I walked in, I knew I was in for something special. The aburi tamagoyaki (pillowy Japanese egg omelet) topped with corn and special cheese blend then seared to perfection are absolutely out of this world – a must-try! The omg refresher, a cucumber and radish sprouts wrapped in salmon with ponzu sauce, is a refreshing and delicious bite. Don't even get me started on the honey garlic crunch edamame – it's sweet, savory, garlicky, and crunchy. I couldn’t stop eating it, even sucking on the edamame skin (trust me, you’ll understand once you try it). Their nigiri is phenomenal, with fresh uni, salmon, and toro that were just melt-in-your-mouth good. The chef-curated selection of fish was beyond impressive, and the firecracker rolls were the perfect balance of heat – absolutely perfect with the light Mio sparkling sake.
Oya Sushi truly delivers on every front, and it’s undeniable that it’s the best Japanese restaurant in MD
I live in GA, but if I were in MD, I would absolutely be here at least once a week. Can’t wait to be back 😀

After moving from South Korea, I’ve been searching for a good sushi restaurant, but until now, I hadn’t found one. I was delighted to discover mackerel on the menu here, which is rare in sushi places, so I ordered the mackerel nigiri—it was savory and delicious. I also tried the Sushi Regular, and every piece was fresh and well-balanced, with just the right texture, rice, and temperature. The small dishes of seaweed and ginger were authentic and a nice touch. The quality is excellent, and the price is very reasonable. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Gem of a restaurant in Marriottsville. We absolutely loved the food. Sushi was so amazing and they had dishes typically not seen in standard sushi restaurants. The service was delightful. Definitely going back
Tried Oya Sushi tonight for the first time and had a great experience. Staff was super friendly and very accommodating to make sure items we safe for my son with food allergies. Didn’t take pictures but everything was plated beautifully. The chef even sent out a piece of baked salmon for me to try.

When I saw that this place had 4.9 stars, I was pretty doubtful of it’s quality. Like, come on, what place is that close to 5 stars. Well to my surprise this was the best sushi experience I could’ve asked for. Not only was our server providing 10/10 friendliness and attentiveness, but the food was immaculate. I’m talking the presentation and quality of meat was just beaaauuutiful! The place itself is nice and relaxing, no blaring music or loud conversations happening when I was there. I went here for a date and we already have a second date lined up so I owe it all thanks to Oya Sushi ❤️
I’ve been here several times and have never been disappointed. The food is great, as is the service. I highly recommend it if you’re in the area.

Do not let the shopping center location fool you. The sushi was fresh, delicious and plentiful! Seaweed Salad was very good too. The service was terrific, attentive but not overbearing. They provided a complimentary appetizer that was wonderful. Not too many tables, so I'd bet it gets tight at dinner time. Cheers!
