Skipjack's Crab Deck

Went here with family, super excited as this place has good reviews. It’s simply Over rated. The food was meh. We arrived when they were not very busy. The service was mediocre, not very friendly, ran out of beverages, she was pretty inattentive. The skin on the fish was quite dark in color and felt durable…. Downright tough. I wondered how many times it had been cooked. The coleslaw- Maybe the intention was this is a garnish? The slaw didn’t taste good at all. The portion was very small. It was served in a 1 ounce sauce container. My wife’s crabcake was yellow. All the food was served cold. All in all the visit was disappointing. I would not choose this restaurant again. I do not recommend Skipjacks Crab Deck.

Jumbo crabs ( Louisiana) were fantastic.

Was in the area so thought I'd stop to get crabs to go. Staff no nothing about crabs. Said crabs are charged by the size of the shell, not the weight. So if a crab has a large shell but empty inside it's still charged as a large crab and you know how much a large crab can cost, so I wouldnt take a chance. The young man behind the bar asked if I wanted crabs or not. Rude too! Don't know how the food taste but definitely would not buy crabs.

We came for the steamed crab special on Tuesday, which was $25 off a dozen crabs. They were large, heavy and flavorful. We were surprised to hear they were from Louisiana instead of MD. The mozzarella moons and brussel sprouts appetizers were also delicious.

Me and a friend went here to have crabs we made a reservations and pre ordered XL crabs. The top deck was cool the vibe was chill. There was a live band playing when we went. While we waited for crabs we ordered the sampler (wings,tenders, mozzarella moons.) the sampler was pretty good. However, we ordered honey old bay wings they brought out some sort of habanero wings. Not a big deal because we didn’t wanna wait for an exchange. The crabs still took about an hour even though we pre ordered. The crabs were huge and came out piping hot which is a plus but man did they lack in flavor like I’ve never in my life had crabs so bland. I’ll be back to try the rest of the menu but the crabs are a huge no for me 👎🏾

This is the best place for crabs in Bowleys quarters. The bartenders are also extremely talented.

I patronized the deck/bar. The food and drinks were good. The service was mediocre at best. The server did not come over and had to be engaged. Upon receiving the bill I saw gratuity was automatically added, I believe gratuity is a must but in this case I wondered if that had any bearing on my service.

Brittany was a great server. My seafood Cobb salad was really good. The crabs were a nice heavy size. The atmosphere was active and good. The pricing was reasonable.They have a small bar also. I will return.

Food was great. It was July 27th, 2025 and we were told that the air conditioning was being fixed imminently but we were there 3.5 hours and the temperature was a consistent 80-82 degrees. We know this because we were sitting next to the thermostat. My wife complained that she was sitting in a pool of sweat. There were mold spots on the ceiling above our table that were sweating drops of water onto our table. We met with relatives to discuss something of importance and could barely hear each other. It was extremely loud. We ordered crabs ahead of time but still waited for an hour and a half before they arrived at the table. I ordered the steam pot and my wife ate crabs and cream of crab soup. We all had the delicious corn on the cob. Like I said, we were there for 3.5 hours mainly due to waiting on items to be delivered to the table. We asked for drink menus and received one to share amongst 6 people. We asked for the desert menu and again waited 30 min for it to be delivered to the table. Again, one menu for 6 people. If the air conditioning was indeed broke and not just the owner trying to save money and the Service was faster/better, the restaurant would be something I would try again as the food, like I said was really good. As it stands, I will not be going back any time soon hoping they get their act together.
