Finally a place to enjoy GOOD coffee (rich and dark, not sour! Thank god!) and delicious food (try anything!!) in a beautiful ambience. I love coming here to work or to meet with friends. This is a gem in the community. Very fair prices too. Wonderful buisiness.

Charming neighborhood cafe with incredible vibes, friendly staff, and A+ coffee. I wandered into La Poteria while on the way to Harper's Ferry; I'm not entirely sure how Montgomery Village, MD was perfectly on our route from DC to West Virginia, but I'm so grateful that it was. La Poteria was the perfect midpoint to grab our morning caffeine fix and a bite to eat before we hit the Harpers Ferry hiking trails. The cafe was beautifully decorated with marble tables, a ton of plants, and plenty of couches and cozy armchairs. There was a ton of natural light from the giant windows, but they also had a number of aesthetic hanging lights, some of which were exposed bulbs and others of which were in little wicker baskets.
As far as the food and drink goes, I loved their latte. The coffee was rich and not overly acidic, and it was strong enough that you could still appreciate the chocolatey, nutty undertones under the generous helping of steamed milk and foam. I also loved the little heart sprinkle they added in the center of the mug -- such a cute final touch! My friend and I also split two of their savory items, the cheese arepa and spinach and feta empanada. The empanada was a little different than what I was used to, as it was super flaky and buttery, with an almost croissant or puff pastry-like dough. It was delicious and the savory feta went wonderfully with the spinach and the slightly peppery mayo-based sauce they served it with. The arepa was also lovely, with a generous helping of gooey melted cheese on top of the slightly chewy, slightly sweet corn-based flatbread.

Absolutely LOVED finding this spot the other day! The empanadas were delicious (I was recommended the Spinach and Cheese AND the chicken). Also, my vanilla latte was delightful!! I frequent cafes often, and this spot just move into my Top 3!!!

Tucked away in the heart of Gaithersburg, this café is a true hidden gem with charming decor and cozy vibes. The brick walls & South America curated decor. For coffee lovers, the single-origin offerings are a delight, especially their crafted pour-overs. I highly recommend the Alto Letras from Colombia—its sugar cane notes add a subtle sweetness. This place has good dessert 🍨 to top it off!

I love this place so much!! It is fairly priced, delicious, and the service is always amazing. The coffee is great and I cannot get enough of their chicken empanadas. Everyone I have interacted with is so sweet and genuine. I highly recommend!!! They also once made best latte art which made my day because that’s my favorite animal :)

Only got a latte and some small bite pastries, but the food and the atmosphere were great.
The staff was friendly, kind when I asked for things like silverware to cut up my pastry.
A little hard to find since it’s between the two buildings, but I’ll definitely be going back again.

Food is delicious but service and ambience are not great. Dislike how the seats are displayed . It should have tables with 2 seats . Also, they don’t come to take your plate.
Service is very slow too . I’d come for the food and take out only .
PS.: this 90 min sign to use the laptop is hilarious. Have never seen in any place before .
