My Cup Runneth Over Southern Cuisine LLC (Carry-Out)

I placed my order with Jamila who was very kind and had excellent customer service. The food was a 4/5 but since this was my second time in a roll I realized that it all depends on who the cook was that day. As I was getting help with placing my newsorder there was a lady that came from the back and was very rude to Jamila because she needed her services in the back. The owner was also rude as she needed to know what was taking her so long with me. I had already spend $100 in the past 2 days. And was picking up another other for $31 and was trying to decide if I wanted another. It was only me in the store so no one was waiting. My message to you -I really don't care how good you think you are but you win through good customer service. It is very important how you make you customers feel when spending their money. I have decided this is not going to be a place I will be returning.

First time customer, service absolutely great, food absolutely great, you get plenty of food freshly cooked, seasoned just right I am overall a very satisfied customer and I will continue to patronize this establishment, definitely will share my experience here with others

I was really excited to try this spot because of all the great reviews, but it honestly didn’t live up to the hype. The mac and cheese tasted like a solid block of cheese — super heavy and overpowering the perfectly cooked noodles. The hot honey chicken just tasted like straight buffalo sauce with no hint of honey, and it made the chicken soggy instead of crispy. The only thing that really hit was the yams — they were perfect. But waiting just under an hour for my order made it even more disappointing.

This has got to be the best friend chicken in the DMV period. The batter is next level and the meat was incredibly tender and literally fell off the bone. The sides are fantastic too. I’m coming back for the rest of the entire menu. It’s that good.

Excellent soul food and BBQ, Horrible wait time but worth the wait. Always call ahead for your food and pick up when it's ready.

I ordered ribs that are charcoal grilled with wood chips, Mac and cheese, potato salad, baked beans, greens, corn bread. Everything was great! Fresh, homemade and professional service.tase great too!

This is my second time trying them. I wasn't impressed the first time, but I like to give a restaurant a fair chance before making a decision. No one was in the lobby, again. Time management is poor when it comes to cooking food. For the number of people in the kitchen, it didn't add up to me why I had to wait an additional time for my food. I was late picking up my food, based on the estimated time determined by Uber Eats, and I was 25 minutes away from the restaurant when I placed my order. Despite this, I still had to wait an additional 35 minutes. The fish is good. Everything else, when it comes to sides, is average. The favor isn't there, and I got something different this time. I have had better, and I can't say this is soul food. It’s a church plate with dietary restrictions. Over-priced. I will not be returning. If they can improve their lobby presence, food quality, and customer satisfaction through proper kitchen management and food delivery, they may be onto something.

The menu online doesn’t match the menu u when u use door dash! And when u try to call says number not in service! Ordered party wings to combo didn’t get my side of Mac n cheese didn’t notice until I was home was not driving back! And was weird when u call at closing time phone rings forever but when u call during office hours says not in service bad business

When I think of soul food, I don’t think of food coming out of a microwave being reheated from the night before or whenever it was cooked very disappointing to come spend $18 to get three pieces of dark meat, chicken and macaroni and cheese. That was all microwave. The food is ice cold but the tray they gave me the food in was super hot because it was in the microwave and it was Almost melting. This is just disgusting to have soul food at this price. I could’ve went to fast food and got it at least pre-cooked this within an hour ago I mean it’s lunchtime and they don’t have any food ready and they give me cold chicken straight out of the microwave with the to go container is burning hot and the food is ice cold just ashamed for everyone that’s cooked soul food I will never come back to this place $18 wasted for food. I could’ve went to this grocery store and bought a frozen dinner and threw it in the microwave if I wanted a microwave cooked food.

I recently moved to the area in April. We have eaten here numerous times. The quality of the food is ok. The people are typically friendly when I go in to pick however THE WAIT is ridiculous. I’m only writing a review today because we waited an hour and 20 minutes for chicken wings and two sides. CHICKEN WINGS AND TWO SIDES! Absurd.

Food took a while and I wanted to be mad but the first bite of that good food shut me up. The food is worth the wait. I m saying this openly that this place has some of the best food in the state.
