Delicious!

Update: honestly, I cannot speak for any of these bad reviews but ever since I came here a couple of days ago, I’ve been here everyday since, unashamedly. I have tried the combination platters, the snapper and everything was 10/10. They are also very generous with their portions. I used to go to Irie and Carribean Grill.. this place has officially taken all my business. I’ll continue returning.

So good. Food definitely hit the spot. I live in VA but was driving out Maryland and saw the place. Hadn’t had Jamaican food in a while. Glad I stopped. It was really good… staff was very nice and my order came out quickly. I got curry chicken meal and side of plantains

First off let me say when I pulled up to the spot I was greeted with some nice reggae music playing on the outside. As I walked in I was greeted by friendly staff who asked if I was ready to order. I ended up ordering the oxtail & curry chicken combo. Mind you this was a sunday evening around 530pm, 30 mins prior to closing time and oxtail was still available! Most Jamaican places I got to this close to closing never has oxtail left, however not this spot! The temperature of the food was so hot in the container I knew it was about to be bomb and couldn't wait to get home to enjoy it. I live less than 10 minutes from the place and when I got home the food was still hot! I don't know know where to start. First off, the portion size was amazing at the price and I didn't leave feeling cheated or underwhelmed. The oxtail was very tender and fell right off the bone, and also had a good flavor and was well seasoned. The curry chicken was also tender and had some kick to it but not overbearing (as I love spice) and also was seasoned well. The rice was also perfect, not clumpy and was soft and tasted fresh. The cabbage also had a nice flavor and tasted fresh too. I have tried a lot of Jamaican spots in the DMV and have left disappointed each and every time until I tried this spot! I'm not Jamaican however I do love Jamaican food and spice. I am now a loyal customer and cannot wait to try the other items on the menu! The all male staff sure does know how to throw down in the kitchen! A hit!

I went there a couple of times and thoroughly enjoyed my meal so much I was excited to say I have found my new Caribbean food spot near me that had consistent food … UNTIL last Friday night I got my brown stew chicken & curry chicken combo. I took a bite of the curry chicken and INSTANTLY got sick because it tasted BAD spoiled. That night I was throwing up and stayed in the bathroom with diarrhea. I got sooo sick I had to go to the hospital and was diagnosed with food poisoning and a week later I’m still suffering from nausea and other food poisoning symptoms. Im so disappointed because I really liked this spot. I urge them to please make sure they follow safe cooking temperatures to kill harmful bacteria in food. Additionally, proper storage, timely refrigeration, and regular checks for expired or contaminated ingredients to maintain food safety standards to make sure no other customers suffer they way I did.

Jerk is what they do best in the area. Full of flavor tbh! And if you experienced the jerk in Judy’s island grill by glen Burnie or Forever jerk in Queens NY… then you know what I mean. Unfortunately everything else on the menu is not taken as serious and lack authenticity. Also they should accommodate a patio area or just a drive tru settings.

Disappointed is all I can say . I went to this place a few months ago and the food was decent enough to want to return. Unfortunately that was a huge mistake after spending nearly $70. Jerk chicken was rushed no flavor and lacked any source of love when cooked. The oxtail was just disgusting no flavor at all. The cabbage rice and peas were just not it. I hate to send these out especially our people establishments but it’s their own fault. If you can not consistently provide the same level of service why even open unless you want to take people money. Go at own risk but check your food.

The food was okay. I got Mac and cheese and it was horrible. More thick cheese than noodles and very very dry. I also had the Curry chicken and stewed chicken. It was okay

Do not order from Da Jerk House!!!

This place is terrible! The food was cold and tasted like absolute garbage. And the kitchen looked extremely unsanitary.

Also, the cashier was incredibly rude for seemingly no reason at all. She’s one of those bitter people who brings her personal baggage to work and takes it out on the customers. Not worth dealing with that, especially when the food sucks!

I’m totally in love with the Jerk ribs, you can ask for bbq, however they taste like bbq with a minute amount of jerk sauce. Cabbage is nice and peppery. The juices are very good flavors are excellent. I will be going back for the ribs. I’ve had their jerk chicken and curry chicken and curry goat. The ribs have me hooked. I suggest someone less angry with the world work the register.

Vegetarian options: You can just order the vegetarian items of your choice à la cart.

Parking: Handicap parking is provided close to the entrance.

Wheelchair accessibility: There’s handicap parking and everything is flat ground you can wheel straight into the restaurant. The counter is too high for a wheelchair

First things first. I thoroughly enjoyed my interaction with the cashier. She was so patient with me as I navigated the menu for the first time. But the height of my experience was the fooood! I got an Ox Tail/Jerk Chicken combo ??? w/ a slice of rum cake. ?? The OT was so tender and flavorful. That JC, my GAWD!!! Fell.? Off.? The.? Bone.? ?? I wasn't able to take pictures of my cake slice b4 biting into it with my bare hands! ?? It was fresh, moist, decadent, sweet but not too sweet. Just excellent. ? BEAUTIFUL! ??

The cashier was super nice and she walked me through what I should order. I wanted peppers with my meal and they accommodated me. The food came out pretty quickly and the atmosphere as a whole is cool.

The food was delicious ? I got the jerk chicken with rice and cabbage. I asked for extra sauce and she gave me just that! They had very nice customer service. I didn’t know this spot was here, so I will definitely be back again.
