I do not regret coming to J&J Mex Tex taqueria today. The staff were very friendly and I like the music they play, it’s very uplifting and encouraging. The food was flavorful, and I would definitely recommend my friends and family to eat here! Great place in the DMV.

On 11/21/23, I regretfully opted for this branch instead of my usual Brentwood choice. My order, shrimp and chicken combo fajitas with a burrito, turned out to be a disappointment. Despite paying extra for avocado slices and pico de gallo, both were missing. Strangely, tortillas, as indicated in the description, were absent too.Attempting to address the issue, I faced difficulty reaching the restaurant; it took three tries before someone answered. The staff member seemed oblivious to his role, and when I explained the situation, he struggled to offer a solution. His advice was to mention missing items in the comments for a future order, a suggestion rendered comical by their failure to check order notes this time.This experience, intended as a personal treat before preparing a Thanksgiving meal for the family, proved dishearteningly mediocre. A disappointing encounter that ensures I won't be returning.

I just had the mixed grill fajita tonight and it was incredible, the chicken and beef are the cats meow. The customer service is the best, the staff are so friendly and generous. I haven’t actually been to the store yet, but met staff at the food truck the week before last and one of our housemates also raves about the service. So glad J and J came to Mount Rainier!

The birria tacos special is so delicious, and it transports well to your house if you pick it up or have it delivered. I have recommended it (and other J&J dishes) to multiple friends, and not just in Mount Rainier!
