Rob and his crew catered mine and my husband's vow renewal on October 8th. Everything was amazing!. From the moment we met Rob, we knew we wanted him as our caterer. On taste of his food and there was no way we wanted anyone else! Rob went above and beyond for our special day, even accommodating a last minute change in food quantity and variety from me. Everyone was raving about the food! Plus as good as everything else was, the cornbread was the best cornbread I have ever tasted! Highly recommend Rob and his crew for any and all events! 10 out of 10!!!

Best bbq in the world!!!!! Their ribs are always on point. My favorite is the pulled chicken sandwich with cheese. The chicken is so moist and tender that it practically melted in my mouth. The service is outstanding, Rob always had a smile on his face and goes over and beyond for all of his customers. If you like bbq they have mission bbq beat by far in my books. Well worth the drive. Support local!

Thanks to Robert and Lone Star for catering a 50th Birthday Party. the brisket, turkey, mac and cheese and cornbread were amazing. Nothing was left! Great food for sure.

We had 60-70 people for our daughter’s, recent, graduation party. We had asked around and received several recommendations for Lone Star. I am so happy we decided to stick to our plan of finding a small business to support, while feeding our guests; and even happier we took the recommendations seriously. Our food was amazing; the staff was incredible to work with; and most importantly, our guests bellies were very happy! Thank you again for such amazing, high quality, food. We’ll definitely use your services again in the future!

We used Lone Star Barbeque for my Husband’s Retirement Party. The food was a Hit. We have always Loved Lone Star, so we knew we had to have them for the Biggest Party of the Year. Keep Up the Great Work Robert!

Despite the name, this is now a Bar-B-Que place. No pizza in sight (not that I expected it, since their signage is definitely BBQ now) I had the Brisket platter, which includes 1/2 lb meat, coleslaw, cornbread, fries, and a drink. The brisket was tasty and juicy, but I felt like there wasn't enough of it. Sides are sort of limited - slaw, baked or green beans, a smoked potato (limited availability), smoked sweet potato (again, limited to Friday and Saturday), fries, cornbread, and chips. None of the typical BBQ staples, like greens, or Mac & cheese. To be honest, my only real complaint is about the menu, not the food. For a BBQ place, I want the option of a combo platter - 2 or 3 meats, and let me pick the sides. For sandwiches they offer Pit beef, Brisket, Pit Ham, Pulled Port, and Pulled chicken. Platters seems to be limited to Brisket and Pulled Pork only. They also offer 1/4 and 1/2 chicken, and Ribs (full of half rack). I would have loved to get more of a sampler and forego the unnecessary sides. If anything, it would have saved me from handing around an extra 5-10 minutes while they cooked the fries. The Brisket platter was $16.99 and to be honest I was still sort of hungry afterwards. I think BBQ could work in this area, but they need to make Meat the center of the menu, and make it more flexible. Folks who are dropping in for BBQ are going to want to try several things, not just one kind of meat. It would be nice if they could offer sides that are available most of the time, not just weekends. Sadly, I suspect from the limited availability of certain items, and the limited portions, that they're not going to be around much longer. They're in an area that is underserved by good placed to eat. I think, unfortunately though, if given the choice, when I'm in the mood for BBQ I'll probably head east to Andy Nelson's, or south to CarterQue.

This is actually NOT a pizza place. This is a great BBQ joint. Smells great. Tastes great. Cute setting and atmosphere. The people are nice, there's a smoker out front and they make their own sauce... apparently hunters are welcome (that's what the sign said) lol

I still much prefer brick oven style pizza to a Ledo style - but I have to upgrade Lone Star from "A-OK" to "Yay I'm a fan." for a number of reasons: a) the host liquor store cleaned out the wacky flea market surplus goods assortment, and it seems, created more space for the embedded pizza shop. Less entertainment perusing the goods while you wait ... but much improved atmosphere. Let's face it - you know you like the fancy Cabernet in the heavy bottle a lot better than the two buck chuck in the cardboard box, even if they're the exact same juice..... b) I finally tried one of the specialty texan style pizzas (chorizo chipotle cactus) tonight. I'm not sure it's actually pizza ... but it's very tasty. c) I ordered a large, and asked them to make it 2/3s texan and 1/3 just plain cheese for my 3.5 year old. I fully expected and would have been perfectly happy to pay for the full texan pizza. They actually discounted it to reflect the 1/3 cheese. d) my picky eatin' 3.5 year old loved the plain cheese portion. Then 20 minutes later was asking for more. I haven't tried anything else besides a few pizzas, but they have a full menu of cheesesteaks, sweet potato fries, salads, calzones. I'm recommending you check it out. Even if you now have to go somewhere else to buy the thread and bike pedals you need with your carry out.

Three problems here. Ordered a meat lovers pizza. Most places give you a pizza slathered with meat in every bite. This place gives a good selection of meat -- Pepperoni, Salami, Meatballs, and Sausage. However, 1. Each slice has one small piece of each of the above items. And they're all stacked up in the very center of the slice. This means that about 4 out of 5 bites have no meat to love at all. 2. If you're a meat lover who doesn't love bacon, then this pizza may be for you. Bacon is available as an extra topping at additional cost. But in my opinion it should be standard or it shouldn't be called a Meat Lovers pizza. 3. I asked this girl in a cowboy hat working there why all the meat was in rows and columns of little stacks. She said stacking it that way helps her cut the slices straight. When I commented it would be nicer to have meat in every bite instead, she turned rather surly and told me never come back. I'm happy to comply. Pizza's okay, the presentation is weird, and the help is rude. Other places deserve your hard earned money more.

Here's my story. I bid and won at a Newspapers-in-Education auction a specialty pizza from Lonestar. Ordered my pizza and when I get out there the pizza guy refuses to honor my certificate and even accuses me of trying to scam him. Really!!!! Like I'd drive all the way out to the boonies to scam somebody for a lousy pizza! Don't patronize this place!

It's as good as it gets because Doug, the owner, not only has an amazing product (pizza is awesome!!), but he is friendly and accomodating. I called ahead for carry out for a take-n-bake Hawaiin pizza since we wanted to pick up before the game and he was more than willing. It wasn't until we picked up that we realized he was supposed to be closed according to posted hours-but he stayed open, what a guy! When we picked up, he told us how to finish baking it, and was friendly. The pizza speaks for itself-sort of Ledo-esque, but with a more homemade take which goes a long way. My picky 9-year old and 6-year old gave it a thumbs up, and said we should get this every day. Definitely good stuff-patronize this place to keep it going!!!
