We always enjoy eating here. It is somewhere you enjoy the food and do not leave disappointed. This is a popular spot so I would recommend making a reservation and during peak times expect to wait;but the food is worth it. It is a small restaurant with limited seating and they cannot control how long a table sits. Also save room for dessert or be sure to take some home.

Had reservations, arrived, waiting about 10 minutes for someone to acknowledge us and seat us. Someone was as the register checking someone out. But didn't say hi or anything, didn't apologize for the wait either. Not much on the menu that was for something heathier to eat. Most pies were sitting on the counter un covered or in display cases. When I went to the bathroom, no sign about employee s to wash hands before returning to work. Would not probably return.

Quaint little place. We used to go there frequently several years ago. Went back on Saturday for first time in probably 4 years. I used to love their fried chicken but decided to be adventurous and try a crabcake. ($28.50 single w/2 sides) After we placed our order, I quickly realized that waiter didn’t ask if I wanted it broiled or fried so I flagged him down. After a trip to kitchen, he told me they weren’t broiling them tonight. I said I don’t like them fried and he told me “you’ll like it, it’s not fatty or anything and if you don’t, we’ll figure something out.” That’s when I should have told him to change my order, but I try to be tolerant. (Menu should clearly state crabcake is fried) Plate arrived with a very fried crabcake, a small scoop of mashed potatoes (I don’t think it was any more than a leveled icecream scoop of potatoes) and a more generous size portion of mac & cheese. I’ll just say the best part of the meal was the mini coconut muffin. We were given one muffin and one roll for the two of us. I realize cost of everything has gone up but I was disappointed with the almost $60 bill for two. If we ever go back, it would only be fried chicken for me. Husband had hamburger steak that was covered in too many onions for his taste, once he scraped them off, he enjoyed the patty, he thought green beans were salty but did enjoy the mac & cheese. The atmosphere is warm and nice but sadly, we just did not enjoy our dinner.

Barbely’s has delicious food. Homemade.
Love their fried chicken, Mac and cheese, turnip greens, fried green beans, and the homemade pie is a must have. Great service too. Good idea to make reservations for Friday or Saturday. You will enjoy it.
OMG what a great little Mom and Pop place. The food is delicious. Was just there Friday and had two softshell crabs piled with crab imperial, sweet potatoes and fresh green beans. To full for the homemade, delicious dessert.
