Visited 2.4.23FOOD: 4.5Ordered the Spicy Tempura Shrimp, Ultimate Seafood Egg Rolls, Shrimp Po Boy and the Shrimp and Scallop Pasta and the Crab Rangoon. The food tastes pretty good, I wish the spicy tempura shrimp was actually spicy. It was much more on the sweet side. Everything else was pleasing.AMBIANCE: 5The seating area was small but nicely laid out with a bar in the middle and kitchen in the back.STAFF: 5Robert was our server and he was nice and attentive to detail. Food came out in a timely matter as well.OVERALL 4.8

The food quality has gone down VERY substantially since COVID!!! For example, cream of crab soup use to consist of lump crab meat and now just crab mush mixture. The lobster roll use to be full body and now just claw mixture. The prices however have either increased or remained the same.

Food was so SO good. The oysters were plump and very fresh. We had the Star Points and Chincoteagues. My wife got the fried chicken Chesapeake and was raving about it. I had the shrimp and scallop pasta and it was to die for. The drinks were fabulous too! Our servers were incredible. They were kind, upbeat, and made sure we were checked on reasonably. The inside of the restaurant is super adorable! Could not get over the general ambiance. It was quiet, and very quaint. We will definitely be back!

I was on my way to Kobe yesterday when I spotted this place and decided to come here instead. I enjoyed the experience overall. The service was good and the happy hour oysters were great. The Crab Cake was very good and the Fries and Cole Slaw were ok. The food came out cold but it was a tasty meal overall. The Bloody Mary here is solid. I like a lot of celery flavor and this place delivered. I'd definitely return as I enjoyed the experience.

I decided to pop in because I did not feel like cooking. I've ordered to go before so I figure I know the food is good. I sat at the bar but it was a quiet night so I could've had a table if I wanted. I was greeted immediately and provided with water and a menu. Ash who was the bar tender/ server shared the specials and was helpful throughout my experience.

Overall good experience. Joined in the evening around 6pm an made happy hour. Started with the blueberry crush (Very good) and oysters from the raw bar the amount that we ordered wasn’t the amount that we received but they were able to correct the mistake. The oysters were fresh and shocked to perfection which is really good because I am a oyster connoisseur. We started with the street corn which was good but I was disappointed that it came out in a whole ear or corn as if eating a whole ear of corn is not the nearest thing to do, I then had the Cobb salad with salmon which was absolutely phenomenal the salmon was cooked to perfection medium with a nice crispy skin which is sometimes hard to achieve they mastered it perfectly! Our service was absolutely phenomenal she was super kind and sweet had great recommendations and very personable. The bathroom was very clean and shared with neighboring restaurant. My only concern was that our tab was over $100 so they automatically add gratuity which was not listed on the menu, this wasn’t an issue but it just caught us off guard. I’ve been to restaurants where $150 automatically adds gratuity but never $100, we still tipped over top of the tip and I do this because when you tip on the card and it’s added they have to wait to get their tip and also tax is taken out which is why I prefer to tip in cash which they took that option away from me when they automatically add gratuity.I would definitely come back but I would make sure to split checks that way I can tip in cash and that my server can take their money home for the day being a server I understand how that works and I would definitely visit again for the happy hour.

This was my first time trying out Curious Oyster on Oct 31,2022. It was myself and 2 other groups around 11:45 am. I order a blueberry lemon crush which wasn't bad a bit more tangy so I asked for grenadine which made it pretty good. I ordered the Supreme casino which wasn't done all the way. I didn't realize it until I popped the third one in my mouth. But it didn't taste bad the flavor was pretty good. The mussels were tiny and taste like garlic water. There were no herbs or nothing the dish looked like an after thought, with no flavor. The Corn on the cob was the best thing that I ordered. This place should be called curious corn. Because they put more thought/flavor into the corn. The fresh shucked oysters taste fresh. The server was very nice and attentive. I paid, left and went on with my day. I was full for literally the rest of the day. The next day I started to feel warm and sick. I'm not sure if it was the under cooked oysters or what. But I hadn't eaten anything else. I tried calling the restaurant to make them aware and no one answered. I called twice so I just let it be.

How in the world is this place still open?? I came back again after having back to back bad experiences...and AGAIN...it was terrible. My mussels were bad. The lobster roll had zero flavor. The fries were not even cooked as you can see in the picture. The sweet waitress was left to defend the company while some manager named John hid in the back. It is obviously the lack of management and leadership at this place that has allowed to become the worst restaurant on the Avenue. Absolutely empty at 7 o'clock on a Friday night in White marsh is a joke in this place can't close soon enough. Order McDonald's before coming here

The Madhouse oysters paired with a Narragansett lager was the right decision. I also thought the prices on the oysters were incredibly fair given the same oysters would cost 2 to 3 times as much the closer you get to Baltimore. Friendly staff and great seating at the outside bar while watching the Maryland vs. Michigan game made for a perfect Saturday.

Impromptu lunch on a Sunday. Being it wasn't busy, we were seated right away. Ordered 7 oysters (5 Chincoteague and 2 Malpaque). Oysters took roughly 15 min to arrive with 2-3 shuckers standing by. A lot of shell in the half that was served. Chincoteague are always a hit however the Malpaque were too sweet and low in salinity/brine. After overhearing another server tell the guest seated next to us that they were out of the last two listed oysters including the Malpaque; I asked the server and was told it was still in the system allowing him to put in the order and they may have switched it out to another. Would have been nice to know before consumption. Ordered the crab grilled cheese and the poke bowl. No complaints on the poke bowl outside of the large amount of Mayo based drizzle. Crab grilled cheese, nothing to rave about. Menu notes "crab, gouda, cheddar, tomato add bacon for $3". The sandwich I reviewed had crab, cheddar, some odd tasting sauce, no tomato no gouda. 1 Allagash Beer and 1 Chesapeake 75, probably was shaken because the Prosecco was flat. The bill at the end was not worth the quality. Definitely was an experience, not inclined to try it again.

Every time I've dined at the Curious Oyster, it was a pleasant experience. They know how to make a stiff drink and my most recent entree, Salmon with cauliflower risotto, was excellent. Let give a little commotion for that green sauce *chef's kiss*. The fried Brussels with brown honey butter were a hell no - lack of flavor & crispness in texture. The other entree ordered was the Shrimp and Scallop pasta which had great color and consistency in the sauce. I am always pleased with the size of the portions provided in each dish as well. The staff are generally pleasant, which is a plus. If only this place stayed open later, but I understand the Avenue has its limits in place. I'll certainly be back.

The appetizers were delicious. I forgot to get a picture of the Mussels and Crab dip, but we had strawberry lemonade, Crab dip, Mussels, and cream of Crab soup. It was $76 for one order of Mussels, one order of crab dip, 3 orders of cream of Crab and 3 lemonades, but so worth it! This was my first visit and I took my niece and her friend and we really enjoyed it.
