I’ve been to this establishment many times and in the past it’s been good. Tonight i took my son to get sushi and we received our sushi and it smelled like straight ammonia and old. It made my son physically ill while eating it. I asked the waitress if she could please take it off the bill and due to it smelling and not tasting great and she said oh well we put vinegar in our rice. I said okay , she had the owner come over and i told him i wasn’t happy with the sushi and the quality. He said well it’s made the same everywhere and gave me attitude about not enjoying it. I asked him if he could please take it off the bill and i would pay for my other food. He proceeds to say i can only take off $20. I said that’s fine. The staff here was very rude and it wasn’t a pleasant visit. I don’t recommend this place.

The food here is spectacular every time we come. This time, we ate in, sometimes do carry-out or delivery to our son's. We have been eating at Yama Sushi for years and years! It is delicious!

Because of the mixed reviews, I was apprehensive about trying this place. But, I'm so glad I did! I had the dynamite roll and it was indeed dynamite! Absolutely delicious! The service was on point, too! I'll definitely be back to try other menu items. Kudos!

Honestly we have never had one bad meal here even for take out, it's hard to find places where the food sometimes is not the best quality like it is eating inside and yama definitely always gives us top quality food dining in and takeout and everyone is so friendly there. The portions are more then enough to be stuffed halfway through your meal. Fast delivery as well! Prices are a bit high but the food quality is so worth the money you spend here. Highly recommend them for anything they make here..

I have been coming here for over 6 years and tonight I have to say that I was VERY disappointed with the service. This is a family restaurant. The young lady (the daughter) at the front was very helpful and helped as much as possible to make our experience enjoyable. It was her parents (the chefs) that I am disappointed with. First, we got there at 7pm to celebrate my sister’s birthday. Unfortunately, our night was ruined because our food took at least 40 mins to come out. By the time it finally came out, they said that they forgot to place my order and I had to wait a little longer for my food. (We were the only ones in there btw). Also, when the chef finally brought out the food, he had a very nasty attitude when I explained that I was inconvenienced and that I would like to be compensated for our time and inconvenience. He did not understand the problem and eventually I just told him to keep the food because I was so upset. He insisted that I kept it and gave me a discount since it was already made. He never apologized for the inconvenience. Also, we asked for a knife to cut the cake and I can’t even explain how FILTHY the knife was. It was unbelievable. So they sent it back and brought another one that was worse. This establishment is very unsanitary and I am regretting our decision to come here. It’s very sad how downhill this place went. MY FAMILY AND I WILL NEVER GO BACK.

Sticky Situation

We have loved this place. We stopped ordering from a Yama downtown because they would put hot food in with the cold sushi for delivery. Well today this location did too. $50 of food wasted because they put hot chicken and how miso soup in the same bag. You can’t do that.

Great sushi!

Vegetarian options: I know there are veg options but I can't remember if they are marked clearly on the menu or separated from other dishes.

Parking: Strip mall parking

Kid-friendliness: My kids love sushi and have eaten here so many times. I get the sweet potato sushi for them but one does eat some of my raw sushi too.

Wheelchair accessibility: This is in a shopping center and there are tables that aren't too close so there's easy access for someone in a chair to get around.

Yama Sushi is hands down our favorite neighborhood spot! The sushi is consistently fresh and delicious, with a great variety of creative rolls that never disappoint. The atmosphere is cozy, and the staff is always friendly and welcoming. We absolutely love coming here and are so glad to have such an amazing sushi place so close by. Highly recommend!

Food was bland, and the shrimp was mushy. Couldn't make myself eat it. NOT hibachi style restaurant. Would not recommend.

In my opinion, Yama sushi has the best sushi I have ever tasted! Always high-quality. Always delicious, fresh and efficiently delivered. Family owned business. It’s a delight to go there.

I was able to tell exactly which rolls were which. 3 combined together and unlabeled. All were pretty good but somewhat more expensive than used to.Ordered: Sunshine roll, Tiger roll, Crunchy spicy tuna roll (1 container)Pink lady roll - looks crazy but very very good. Mango was fresh and refreshing. Compliments the shrimp

When compared to the Yama Sushi in Glen Burnie it’s a real shame, this location has only quarter of the menu! Also you don’t get both salad and soup you must choose an option. Wasabi was an odd color, and fish looked a little old. Taste was average on everything. In the other Yama Sushi locations they’ll usually give a special roll on the house to show appreciation to customers and this location doesn’t do this. You pay same price for less food compared to the other locations. If you are a fan of Yama I would avoid this location.
