I heard that this place used to be good but we will not go back as it was nothing to speak about. I think. A fresh face to paint and reorganize the place would be recommended.

Any place that serves creamed chip beef gets a five star in my book. As for their coffee it is literally the worst cup of coffee I have ever had. I drink it black and it was so bad I tried adding cream and sugar to no avail. Trust me you have to try this coffee so you can honestly tell your friends how bad coffee can actually get. As for the atmosphere there is none. This place used to be a nightclub I think and they just moved the diner in there. The vents on the walls need cleaned and they haven’t even removed some of the wall hanging hooks from the previous nightclub. If you can call military baseball caps and police arm patches ambiance then this is your place. Did I mention they have great creamed chipped beef or biscuits?

We had the waffle,3 of us, we all felt the waffle was under cooked. We also felt the price of the waffle was a bit much, $11.50 and nothing came with it. Soda was $3 with $1 refill. Waitress was friendly. Owner/manager on the other hand, not so much. Over all, we all felt the prices were overpriced. Probably will not go back.

Generals kitchen is always a go-to breakfast spot during our visit to OC. The food is tasteful and plentiful, coffee cups were never empty, and service was fast and efficient.
We use to go to General's Kitchen all the time when they were in the other location. It was our favorite and we waited in line most times to get in. It was great back then, service was good, hash browns my favorite. Fast forward to today. We walked in and it wasn't busy at all, which had us confused, till we finished. Took quite a while for our server to come. We ordered our food. I got a bacon/swiss/onion omlette with hash browns and rye toast. My daughter and I both wanted our omlettes well done. Food comes out, not well done at all. I kept wondering why mine didn't tasted right, and then realized it was white american cheese, not swiss, which is one of the few cheeses I dislike. I'm surprised I ate it (1/2) but don't like sending things back and then eating alone. We made the mistake of adding onions to our omlettes because they charged $2.00 extra for each. The LARGE soda is about 12 ounces for $3.50 and they charge a $1.00 for refills. We got lucky and the 1 refill my daughter got they didn't charge for. I don't know how a place we use to love so much could be so different, even the hash browns were dry and not the same. We will try something else next time. A very disappointed local.

I give a 1 star Because as a local I live here and order to go very regularly because I drive all day. Today i was told no carry out/to go. Which i understand they were busy. However the owner answered the phone and after he told me no carry out. I was asking when might be a good time to call back and order and he hung up on me. I was close by as I only order the chipped beef, only takes about 5 minutes. I didnt know at the time it was the owner that answered the phone so I stopped in and was approached by the owner who then told me he was who I talked to on the phone. I asked why he hung up on a regular customer and he told me because he was to busy to be bothered by my questions as he has customers in the restaurant, then told me it wasnt disrespectful to hang up on me. When I said I was a regular paying customer he didnt care. Im not sure I'll Ever go back which is sad. Because the chipped beef is my favorite in town.
