I live in Salisbury, MD and my wife and I are always looking for restaurants to try. We googled Ocean City restaurants and Hooked was near the top of the list and we decided to give it a shot. My wife called the restaurant in advance to see if a reservation was needed and she was told there was no wait and to come on! When we arrived there was plenty of parking and easy to get into the restaurant. Behind us we noted a group saying they were going to be a party of 13. The restaurant did not look crowded and we were immediately seated upstairs. The restaurant had a nice atmosphere and was very clean. We sat for a while and ancillary staff brought water. Eventually the waitress came and let us know about the menu, specials, and to take our drink and appetizer order. The group of 13 was seated behind us with another waitress. When our waitress presented with our drinks, she placed them on the table and immediately left. I had an unsweetned tea without any sweetner. We reviewed the menu and were not really impressed! The dishes seemed ok, but the prices were high! This is not what was presented in the reviews. We were finally able to place our order and I got sweetner for the tea. The waitress was attempting to be personable, but was only ok. We were given a basket of bread that was good and we finished the three pieces quickly. I asked the waitress if we could have more bread and she told me that the restaurant was going to be busy and they could not give extra bed. They only had enough for the estimated future guests and it would not be fair to them if we got extra bread. As we waited for our appetizer and meals, I looked around the restaurant and no one had food, just drinks! The others had been there before we were seated! I was starting not to get a good vibe of the restaurant. After prolonged waiting we decided to leave without receiving our appetizer or food. I informed the waitress that we were leaving and tried to square any charges we had. She told me no charge, but was aggressive asking why we were leaving. She stated that our food was coming in a minute, but I let her know we were still leaving. We felt a sense of relief when we left. This place seemed nice, but was expensive and the service was bad. I dont think we will be trying this restaurant again.

This place has good food but portions R getting 2 small. I think they dropped some pieces of chicken on the way from the kitchen.

Shawn our bartender was awesome. He was friendly and attentive and made a mean Paloma. The food was good and fresh. We had the crab bisque and garlic muscles and Greek salad and calamari. Shawn was welcoming and made our visit very pleasant! We will come back.

We went there on new years eve. 4 Oz piece of steak 4 stalks of asparagus' round tomatoes. Had to ask f bread no salad. Left starving. 65 dollars plus tax. 2 martinis 2 beers bill over 200.00 service was the worst you can imagine! Very bad experience and felt totally ripped off. Next time put your prices on the menu. You know what your costs are etc. Definitely a big money grab. We had to order domino s later and that was awesome! Have fun!!

My husband and I went to Hooked for appetizers and drinks. We had the crab and corn bisque....it was fabulous, as good as and that we have had in Boston. We also had the boom boom shrimp, wonderful as well. We highly recommend and we definately want to try the entrees!

I was driving around looking for a seafood place, luckily spotted this place touring local honest fresh food, looked right up my alley. So happy I trusted my instincts. A classy little place, super friendly bartender. And the food! I started w the cranberry lemonade cocktail-perfectly refreshing, not too sweet. Had the winter farm salad, I wasn't certain based on the menu description but found it unique and absolutely delightful- fresh greens, a touch of acidity and spice, very satisfying first course. Then I went for the shrimp and grits and oh my! Decadent, creamy, delisvious, and I could only eat half of it. Some of the best shrimp and grits I've had, and it's a favorite order of mine anywhere in the southeast. If you like a relaxed fine dining experience while in OCMD I'd highly recommend Hooked.

The food was amazing! It's very hard to get into in the summer so you have to get there before the dinner rush. I don't think they take reservations. The atmosphere js super cool. Scallops and just about everything else is bangin!

Consistently good. Open in the winter and the service is very good, personable bar tenders that are attentive and easy to talk to. The food is always outstanding

The service was great. Paige was very attentive and checked in several times. The food came out quickly, but could have been hotter. Ambiance was nice. Being off-season, they spaced out the tables upstairs a little more so you didn't feel like you were on top of the other dinners. Low background music, top 40. The little light on the table was nice and gave extra brightness for the menu and the dishes. The Brussels sprouts with Gorgonzola and walnuts were tasty. Good zing from the dressing. Maybe could have been a little more park cooked before the broil. The scallops on a bed of risotto was typical fare. I wish I'd asked what "charred things" meant in the description because it was peppers, which I don't like. Overall a good meal, just needed to be hotter.
