First day they stayed open until the time posted. The food came very quickly and the eggs Benedict where ok a little off on the flavor. The 2nd day they closed over an hour earlier than posted so I couldn't get anything that day. The service felt more like they had to be there than they wanted to be there.

Very good service, food is delicious. We also bought a dozen of their donuts, not bad either.

We got here 12:09, food was served at 1:03pm. We ordered a yogurt parfait that never arrived; country fried steak (it’s actually minced meat) that came with VERY oily hash browns and hungry man’s griddle. We sat outside, there was another 4 tables, and inside was empty. The Waitress was MIA, we had to go in twice inside to get coffee, and while I tried to look for the positive, there is just no excuse for the amount of time it took and the terrible service while NOT busy.

I am absolutely shocked at how rude the staff is here. I called 3 separate times to ask a question and each time- the staff hung up on me. It’s disgusting this is how they treat customers.

Tried Layton’s for the first time this year down at OC, definitely delivered a quality breakfast. My country fried steak was excellent, the sausage gravy was great, hot and fresh. Wife was a big fan of the Thick Buttery Waffles. Didn’t get the chance to try any of their donuts this visit, but we’ll certainly be back in the future to give them a try. Love being within walking distance to a great breakfast spot in OC.

Solid breakfast - we all got the chicken fried steak and it was a good choice. Tasty and a decent portion. Staff was nice and helpful, restaurant and bathrooms were clean. Looks like a pretty good menu overall - I'd try them again. Recommended.

***UPDATE***
We were in town for another long weekend. This time Layton's was not as good as last time. We sat immediately and our order was taken quickly but that's where the good stopped. I ordered a large fresh squeezed orange juice and when it came out it was 8oz of juice. I asked the waitress if she brought me the large and she said yes that's the large. It was $6 for 8oz of juice and it had seeds in it. You can see the picture of the tiny juice in my hand. I alsoI understand fresh squeezed but seeds should not be in the juice. Additionally, the drinks had tops on them and the waitress dropped them off and went to walk away after my question about the size and I asked how are we supposed to drink the drinks? She then grabbed 3 straws and put them on the table.
Our order was French toast, western omelet, toasted bagel and a side bacon and rye toast. I'm not exaggerating but it took 20 minutes to get our food. The restaurant wasn't busy either. My kids were asking where's our food.
Then we get the food. The side of rye was burnt so I ate those and gave my son my pieces which weren't burnt. My omelet was so greasy from the filling of ham, onions and peppers I couldn't eat the filling. I ate the eggs which weren't seasoned at all and left 50% of the ham, peppers and onions. I told the waitress it was greasy and unappetizing. Just very disappointing.

Nice local spot that can get crowded in the summer months. We came on Mother's Day and were surprised it wasn't too busy as we sat right away. The service was great and the food was better. We couldn't have asked for a more satisfying breakfast experience.

As someone who is gluten free, the food was not great. The wait time was not that bad though.

The chocolate chip pancakes were delicious along with my service at the restaurant! It was very good except for the fact that it was really busy when I went causing a 15-20 minutes bug was definitely worth it for the food!
