No more dance bands?? This place was the OC standout. Emphasize Was. Really bad management decision. No more reason to go there.

Gratefully ate here when we arrived at 8 pm to our hotel and didn't want to wait for pizza delivery. Friday night we were one of four-five tables but it has the air of s very grand place with a fancy stage for performers etc- kids felt inspired and minded their manners :) The mac and cheese they ordered which was affordable tasted like it was prepared by a Michelin starred chef - no idea what's going on with that sauce, wow!! The waitress Elise was more than incredible with her smile enthusiasm and great service. I had a simple chicken Caesar salad and it was just fine. Elise gave me a glass of wine to go back to the room with in a cup

We had a great meal in this under represented restaurant. The salmon was cooked perfectly as was the filet. Alisa was our waitress and she was fantastic. A great accidental find, and by the way, there's no sign for this restaurant. Unfortunate that such culinary skill and wait staff aren't acknowledged by patrons.

We arrived to our hotel upstairs on a Tuesday night and thought this was a good idea for dinner. This place was dead only one table and a drunk guy that fell down to no one helping him. I ran over and asked if he needed help and someone finally assisted him and made him sit down in the lobby. As for the food. Wife's steak was cooked perfectly and perfect seasoned. I ordered the Orange roughy which was a hair over seasoned if you ask me but it was very good. Little dudes grilled cheese was great quality. Also ordered a couple fried chickens. Both orders came with a lot of chicken. That was very tasty left over! On the pricy side of things but kinda worth it I guess?

We got into the hotel late around 7:30pm, and we were starving, so we took a chance at Horizons! The wait staff was very friendly, our waitress was great. It was not busy at all, maybe 5-6 tables in the entire place. The decor is dated, but clean. We ordered the buttermilk fried chicken, the steak, and my husband had a fish dish. My toddler had the Mac and cheese with French fries. Everything was well seasoned and tasty. The portion sizes are pretty big, and there were leftovers. The price for the steak seemed a little unreasonable for the cut, I believe $45. The total bill for 5 people was $180. I don't know that I'd return, but the experience was fine!

The breakfast buffet is back. We didn't stay at the hotel cuz it wasn't up to par last year. It's under new management but changes aren't evident yet. We'll stay tuned for next year

Looks like it is under new ownership. Was dead vacant on a Saturday night which was shocking and also slightly concerning. The customized the mussels with a different sauce for us which was nice. There really was no ambiance or vibe. Ordered lemon drop martini it was okay. We went for crab legs and they were out. Just ended up ordering a few apps and everything was okay. Not horrible but also not impressed.

We went on a Friday night, it was not very crowded when we showed up just after 5 PM. We had two of the house cocktails, one with tequila (el limon) and the ripen one was The island time. Both good. For dinner we ordered a half pound of shrimp (about 26-30/#) which was very good, and one of us ordered salmon, which was also very good. The other of us had the linguine Alfredo with shrimp which was very filling and large. (Albeit with smaller shrimp than the 1/2 pound). All items were served hot. And the waiter was not familiar with it the beers or wine as we had ordered a Cabernet and dogfish head hazy, And what arrived was a Chardonnay and a dog fish head regular. When informed, he corrected that. The service did seem a little slow, but we were in and out in about an hour. We weren't in a hurry as there was a significant thunderstorm going on outside. Nice view of the ocean from our table.

Will not return. The service was very slow even though the restaurant was less than half full. Our food did not come out as ordered. Refused to have it remade because we were already there for 2 hours for a table for 2. It is outdated and had a dirty feel.

Ordered the shrimp tacos and they were absolutely the worst food I had. The food in this place is getting worse, the only saving grace in this place are the band they have on the weekends.

We decided to try something new this year and go out for Christmas dinner to the "famed" Clarion buffet. Worst decision ever. Not only did they not have the buffet and didn't communicate that to us, but they were so understaffed that we were there for over THREE hours on Christmas Day in a dining room full of very unhappy diners and stressed out yet completely uncaring wait staff. It took over 45 minutes just to get a glass of water, 2 hours 15 minutes to get first appetizer, and an extremely subpar dinner came 2 hours 40 minutes after our reservation time. Since we had already ordered and everyone was hungry, we waited but it felt like we were in Clarion jail, being held hostage on Christmas Day. We are willing to give slack to any business on Christmas Day, but it was apparent that the owner had no concern over our dining experience, but just wanted to pack in the people...he actually said "absolutely not" to our request for an adjustment to our bill, bragging that he was the "only restaurant open" on Christmas Day (not true) while abusing his overworked wait staff. Our waitress was crying when we arrived and was crying when we left even though we kept assuring that we didn't hold her responsible. We have been to the Clarion several times in the past...we always enjoy the oceanfront view though the food has never been anything but average...but we would literally never give one more dime of support to this establishment.

if your considering going here, go literally anywhere else, even mcdonald's. my family came here for a christmas dinner and had reservations a week ahead of time. we were in this restaurant for 3 HOURS. i understand that they are short staffed, but we did not even get a warning that there was going to be a wait. the staff were running around and the waitresses were crying. we watched table after table leave after an hour of not receiving their appetizers, couples fighting, families crying. this comes totally down on the OWNER who is a terrible human, watched him treat his staff terribly, was totally unapologetic and even said 'well we are the only restaurant open so your lucky to be here' when there are soooo many others that are OPEN FOR CHRISTMAS and way better. if this doesn't convince you enough to not go, the food was also terrible and sitting out for at least 45 min. total dumpster fire. we started warning other people who were walking in at the two hour mark that we had not even gotten our soup yet to try to save another family's christmas. we will NEVER be back and will LOUDLY tell others to steer clear.

We stopped in for dinner tonight. I had the scallops linguini and my mother had the salmon. Everything was really good. The views were just amazing and the restaurant was warm and comfortable. Our waiter was nice, too. We thought the prices were good too.
