The place wasn't too busy when my party of two went. There were two people working as hostesses, and it took forever to get orders in and also a long time to get the food. The food was undercooked (pancakes and scrambled eggs), and there were flies and an unclean atmosphere. The server was polite. Yet, he never came by the table and the cook didn't want to take a special request (just to mix cheese in the egg)

Used to be my favorite breakfast spot while visiting OC. Now it's just disappointing. The food was subpar, the poor wait staff were so overwhelmed by the customers so the wait was long and the updated menu took away many of the food items we were looking forward to. Such a shame.

Worst service EVER. We have been coming to OCMD for over 25 years and have never had a more chaotic breakfast experience. Our server Candace was beyond rude (and I’m saying this as someone who has worked in food service before) and acted like our existence was the biggest inconvenience, despite only having another table or two. They were out of A LOT of menu items and were not willing to make any substitutions. When our order was incorrect, it took forever for replacements and those replacements were truly subpar. We will NOT be back for breakfast, though the Howard Johnson staff was great, so we may be back to the hotel in the future.
