Very nice and clean restaurant. Would recommend visiting in off season as it was pleasant and slow. I can imagine it would be crazy in the summer. Total bull was $250 for 4 adults and a toddler, so definitely an expensive night out. Food was very good and very seafood focused. Crab soups were very good and the crabs were really big and fat. Chicken was yummy and the prime rib was really well cooked and tasty. Lots of dessert options. Drinks were affordable priced which was nice with the cost of the buffett. Impressive place for a nice night out.

Husband and I dined there a week ago. Loved it--crab balls were so good and so were the crab soups. Steamed blue crabs were some of the best I've had. Smaller, but very tasty. Dessert choices aren't much as far as variety, but the mini cupcakes were very good. Great service--will visit again!

Was not sure what to expect based on the very mixed reviews I read before going. Happy to say it was more a positive experience than not. Server, Josh, was attentive without hovering. The cream of crab soup was good as was the crab dip. The raw oysters and clams were kept replenished and were very good. Salads were fresh and appealing looking. The mini crab cakes were disappointing as they were overcooked. The crab stuffed tilapia was bland and somewhat tasteless. The pick and peel and fried shrimp were both very good. The prime rib was tasty and the server was willing to cut a slice from the middle. Overall, this is a place we would be willing to revisit.

For starters it looked completely abandoned out front. We were certain they were closed. We walked around the corner and noticed a sign on door showing hours for the week. You walk upstairs to be greeted by a hostess. $45.99 for AYCE seafood buffet. The crabs were good, the huspuppies and corn fritters were good. The raw oysters tasted bad. Almost as if they were going bad. Same with the raw clams Our waitress was awesome. She never let our drinks go empty & was frequently asking how everything was. Very large assortment of food. Got our moneys worth with crabs, but rest was a bit of a disappointment.

Decided to try this buffet out when we were in town. Staff was extremely rude, multiple people were complaining about the food (someone even walked out) and the food was disgusting. There was barely anything out, everything was dry and pretty much inedible. Our waitress was even giving us weird looks because the 3 plates we tried to eat were still full. I felt bad not being able to eat it. We were going to say something while we were there but the staff was sitting down with customers saying they did not care about the people complaining and laughing. It was very unsanitary to the point i felt disgusting after we left. Flies on food, tongs mixed in the food, and things not properly stored. I tried contacting them and i have received no response.

Buffet Good was good but since I ate oysters & clams on half shell with fresh squeezed lemon… I was too full to get any dessert? blue cheese dressing was good, Alfredo pasta, fried & streamed shrimp were crunchy & delicious. Service was fabulous as far as getting our dishes off table too. I can’t wait to go back. I was pleasantly surprised with all the food, mini crab cakes, corn fritters & the corn on the cob was in butter but not soggy.

Pretty decent buffet. We went on Monday afternoon around 3pm. There wasn't a wait. They had a nice mix of everything including blue crabs, BBQ, salad bar, raw bar and cold shellfish, fried seafood, fried chicken, and side dishes. Standard drinks and a dessert bar. I think the desserts and side dishes could be done a bit better, but overall food was okay. Some of it was really good. Kid friendly and lots of parking. Seating is a little tight and the table are a little tiny. There is also an elevator.

oh my god this place was f***ing fabulous. all of the staff we interacted with were extremely attentive and hospitable (conner/connor and the two nice hostesses). buffets are the best. the crab was good, but the corn was so delicious, i had seven cobs and finished it all before i could take a picture of it. the ambiance is a bit confusing but otherwise, one of the greatest seafood buffet experiences ever.

So happy that they still kept this place a buffet and are really trying to update and modernize the place. The food still needs a little bit of work. Customer service was amazing! We will try this place next time we are in town. The owners seem like they are really trying to make this a great restaurant! Very excited to see what all the do to the place!

We wanted to like this place because we loved Phillips but we were very disappointed. The food was over done and dried out. The seating area smelled like a dirty locker room. The meats in the pasta (shrimp and steak) were like rubber. The “dessert buffet” is a stretch, it’s brownies, cookies and teeny tiny cupcakes. To charge $40 pp is laughable. The best thing we had were the fried shrimp, bread rolls and chicken fingers. Don’t waste your money.

**** I was Very disappointed on mostly everything. A lot of the fried food were all dried out. The prime rib was dry, the ham was under cooked, the brisket was too fatty and dry and the ribs were just nasty and fatty. They don't replenish the buffet. The yellow, Not white Vanilla ice cream was horrible. That and the brown romaine salad just made my stomach turn. Service was ok....$45 a person. I'd rather go to a real restaurant and have a good fresh meal.

Waitress was very nice and attentive. That was pretty much the only positive. There was an odor of what seemed like a combination of bad milk/vomit where we were seated. Many of the food items were dried out (clams/mussels) or over-seasoned (prime rib/crabs). For what we paid for a couple, we definitely could have had a much nicer and more pleasant experience somewhere else.

We love love loved Phillips so willing to give Union Chesapeake a try. Thumbs down! While waiting for a table for 2, the 2 employees at the hostess stand were bad mouthing other employees. Took awhile for just 2 glasses of water. Unlike Phillips, seafood selection was awful. One 1 type of fish and mostly unseafood options. The fried shrimp was fried beyond recognizing what it was! Food not prepared properly. Now, maybe cause "off season" food just not available?? It was a waste of money and wish Phillips never closed. We literally would drive 2 to 3 hours twice a month to eat at Phillips. I ended up eating $45 worth of fruit ?‍♀️ Not much choices in dessert and nothing labeled so not sure what anything was. Very disappointing. And to the person who questioned giving bad reviews are haters, well to each their own. I'm happy you enjoyed and please go back. But for us, wish Mike and his team at Phillips would return!

Business took over for Philips Crab House offering a similar buffet offering but without the pasta station, a handful of items, and the previous dessert selections. It's still quite good and to the standards of their predecessor. We've enjoyed each of our visits there and look forward to the next one.Plus, they fixed the crab sign!!
