Expressway Pit Beef

Excellent roadside spot for some A+ Maryland Pit Beef.

The wings take longer, but are made-to-order (call ahead if you don't like waiting). We usually get the Honey Old Bay sauce, but the buffalo is fantastic as well.

For the beef: Plenty of toppings available, to include hot sauce, horseradish, mustard, etc.

Fries are boardwalk style, and totally legit. We love any excuse to come to expressway. They do fried turkeys for thanksgiving too!

Been going for years now and is delicious every time! Always friendly service. Definitely a diamond in the rough. Haven't tried everything on the menu as I am a picky eater, but everything I have tried is either excellent or surprisingly good. Absolute favorite is the Pit Beef sandwich and fries. I usually add their BBQ sauce that is available on their counter myself so I can layer it on rather than ask them to put it on the sandwich. Always reasonably priced for my frugal sensibility. I had them cater my League Banquet recently and everyone kept asking from where I got the catering. They loved it! Plus, was significantly less expensive than the usual option my Club uses as their go-to which really saved my budget. Help support a family owned business. Try it! It's yummy!

Stopped by today for the first time and got a well done pit beef sandwich and sweet tea. The tea was perfect. The pit beef was perfect. I couldn’t wait to get home so I took a bite in the parking lot and it was good. But see I’m a big back, took that thing home, warmed up some French onion soup and made some mashed potatoes. Used the soup to dip and topped my mashed potatoes with it. The perfect meal, big back approved!

They say you never know, until you try, so I tried them and choose the ribs and they we're NOT GOOD.... SMH... NO SEASONING... THEY WERE SMOTHERED IN BBQ SAUCE, THAT'S A NO NO FOR ME, BECAUSE A WELL SEASONED RIB, DOESN'T NEED BBQ SAUCE, UNLESS YOU WANT IT ON THE SIDE... FROM 1-10, I WOULD GIVE THE RIBS A 4, BECAUSE THE MOST IMPORTANT STEP IN MAKING GOOD RIBS, IS ALWAYS THE PREP..... COOKING THEM, JUST TAKES TIME....

Great casual traditional BBQ. Good prices and generous portions

Catered a small family get together with Expressway Pitbeef. Wonderful experience during ordering and pick up. The pit beef, pulled pork and pulled beef were great and the sides delicious. No one left hungry, in fact some took leftovers. Give Expressway Pitbeef a try. I'm glad we did.

This is an excellent place to get real pit beef! Good prices, large sandwiches and they allow you to make it your way, no extra charge for normal toppings. Their sides are fantastic. Real fries and baked beans. Why anyone would go to Five Guys with this place around is beyond me.

They have outdoor seating which we have used when driving or as a stop near the bike trail.
