A gem hidden from the world, lost in time but still alive and beautiful. Ripe with history and an experience only found here. I got to spend an hour there meeting Rida, Larry the owner, John and Housche. These guys chewed the straw with me and told me all about the town, the work, and their cars. It was an experience only i got and I will forever remember it and be greatful.

Food was good didn’t appear to be prepackaged. The coffee was good especially after a morning of riding. Service wasn’t slow it just took longer to prepare fresh food. And the atmosphere, eating in a restaurant in a school that was a first for me

Stopped here while riding the C&O trail on our bikes. They happened to be closed for maintenance, unexpectedly, but they came out and greeted us, filled up our bottles with ice water, and let us buy a few snacks for the road from their little mini-mart.
Sorry we missed the hot food, but glad to meet the staff

God bless Schoolhouse Kitchen. These owner/operators have converted an old high school into a diner and b&b. Homestyle cooking, friendly service and a convenience store inside the diner selling a little bit of everything you might need.
Very friendly and welcoming staff. Great food at reasonable prices. Learn about the history of town by looking at the year pictures of the closed school the restaurant now resides in. There is a convenience store, a hair dresser and car mechanic in the old school. They prefer cash, but also take square.

I came in late in the afternoon and the place was nearly empty. The ladies working the kitchen were friendly and the food was great—reasonably priced, also. I will certainly stop by again when I have the occasion, hopefully for breakfast, which I was sorry to learn is only served until 11.

I had a very pleasant time here. The waiters were kind and friendly and the burgers were top notch. Only complaint (because it is an old building) is the severe mold and dust, mostly in the hallways and very much in the gym. I believe most of the mold in the gym was from the old air filters. I have asthma so I noticed it quicker. But the eating area was fine.😁
