I've been going since I was around 9 years old. I moves to pa so I stopped in for the first time in years. Glad to see them still around, the girl wasn't very friendly seemed like she just wanted a pay check. My meat was very red so I had to wait until I got back to pa to heat it more so it became rubbery :-( wasted money but the fries were amazing.

Well I'll start out by saying don't get me wrong by giving three stars for atmosphere. You don't go here for the atmosphere, LOLI am a barbecue aficionado, and my daughter recently moved to this part of the city, so I decided to try it out when I was out there helping her move. I ordered the pit beef and ham combo sandwich. The meat was very tender and flavorful, I was very happy with my choice. The only small complaint I had was I asked them to prepare the sandwich with barbecue sauce and horseradish, but they forgot that.

I get the ribs here whenever I’m in town. Never missed and always perfect. I’ve never tried anything but their ribs and fries. And I’ve never had better ribs anywhere else in the whole wide world (really… the world and perhaps even the universe).

Cashier wasn’t the friendliest. Had a bit of an attitude. Not sure if I’d come back.

A long-standing establishment in the Parkville community. I've been coming here on and off for forty years. I haven't been for a number of years, so while I was in the area recently, I stopped in. I ordered the pit beef sandwich. The bun was doughy, fresh, and kept the juiciness in without causing the bun to become damp and difficult to handle. Bread is an oft-overlooked component of a good pit beef sandwich. Meat was good but a little dry. And the fries were solid. Nothing truly negative stood out to me. This was a good middle-of-the-road pit beef experience.

It's a pick up only place. The food is good. Service is fast. We pick up food from here pretty regularly. My sons like the turkey, my husband likes the ham (with bbq sauce), I like to get half beef and half ham. We also like the fried pickles.

I keep trying bc it's local. I keep trying but they fall shorter every time. This time a rare beef and turkey combo. No roll (I've learned the roll is way too big for the amount of meat). Special soup was lobster bisque. They also had shrimp and corn chowder so I asked if I could have maybe a half teaspoon of each to figure out which one to order. The older woman who seems very unhappy to have to work told me that everything was portioned out and that would be impossible so I took my luck with the lobster bisque. I had also asked for barbecue sauce and horse radish. The guy preparing the sandwiches was young and very friendly but there was also an old grumbley guy who was actually cutting the meat. I got home and my meat was far from rare in fact it was well done with black edges. There was no horse radish in the bag as I was told when I left. The lobster bisque tasted like someone dumped a bunch of booze in a pot and stirred it around. No sign of any lobster meat but had it tasted OK it wouldn't have mattered. I had to call to explain because I was not in a position to run back with my food which I should never have to. If you can't get the pit beef correct at a pit beef stand you're destined for doom. I called and the grumbling woman answered and just very matter of fact said that she would put in a credit for me. I will use the credit but that will be the last time and it's a shame because I have lived in Parkville for 43 years and we need another pit beef place or we need someone to take over this hut.

I've been eating here for 30 years. I live out of state now but no visit back is complete without my pit beef sandwich. Fries are great too!

Have been going here for years, pit beef sandwich with onion BBQ and horseradish. Couldn't even count how many of those ice crushed lol. Ribs are good too. Had a majority of the things on the menu, one thing I've been disappointed with is themac n cheese. They should rework the recipe.

This is a nice takeout place in Parkville. Got the pit beef and fries with a drink for the combo. The sandwich was on a roll. They offered rye and wheat also which maybe I should have done. The roll was a bit thick which overpowered the beef. The beef was a little more well done than I prefer but it was tasty. The fries were terrific. Boardwalk style. Hot and well salted. Really good.
