Bonchon Pasadena

Food is great. But atmospherics are less than inviting. The tables around cash register for social distancing is so 2020. Additionally, I find it slightly expensive but given taste/quality I overlook it as a “special treat”.

Soy Garlic wings tasted like the oil they fried it in was beyond the point of which it should have been replaced for new oil. The old oil taste over powers the soy garlic seasoning. Not worth the 30 dollars for these. 1/26/25

Order some wings from them and never received them. This has been an ongoing issue with them. I’ve complained to them and to DoorDash. But nobody is willing to help! Poor customer service on both parties!

It's an order at the counter, and then wait for your food. Very open spaced area. Chicken on the bone is more flavorful than boneless nuggets. The rice was not sticky rice like expected with Korean style food

All of the draft beer taps were out of order and the plates they brought out to us had dried up chunks of food on them. The takoyaki was very cold in the middle, as if it was frozen and not cooked all the way. The chicken and fried rice were good. The staff I interacted with were nice. It's unfortunate this place is in a sketchy/dying strip mall... It could be so much better than this.

The fries were okay. The chicken tenders are all white meat and very cripsy. The problem is there is no seasoning, no garlic or salt. So they are bland. I attempted remedy the situation by asking for a side of the wet sauces. I was told no, that they only toss wings in the sauce. Won’t be back.

So I normally really like few specific things from Bonchon. However I'm losing my love for it and here's why. A few months ago I placed a large order and they screwed some of it up and had to credit me over $40. Fast forward to the other day when I really wanted those wings. I had forgotten all about the account credit so when my hubby goes to pickup my food, they tell him there's a credit so it didn't cost anything. Now, you would think if they screwed up the order before leaving me a $40+ credit that they would be sure to get this order right. It was terrible. I couldn't even eat the wings, had to throw them away. They were dried out and terribly overcooked. I was so mad that I didn't bother to call them that night as I was afraid I might have cursed somebody out. Wish I had gone back to complain but I'm about a week late writing this review. What a waste of my damn credit! Glad I took pictures. Sooo disappointed!!!
