This place is a veritable cornerstone of Pasadena and a hidden gem. They’ve been around for decades and have some of the best orange chicken you’d ever care to taste. It has a somewhat “hole in the wall” atmosphere but that’s what makes it special. Anthony Bourdain would have loved this place for the no-frills food. Just a solid family run business serving exceptionally yummy chicken dishes.
I can’t speak to the seafood options but I don’t think that’s meant to be the star anyway.
As to the pricing- Pasadena is something of an old school community. It’s highly blue collar in most areas and many folks just haven’t come to terms with inflation yet. This place has been in service to the community for 15+ years and they shouldn’t have to starve themselves to do it. The costs of basic goods increases overtime. You can spend $10-$15 on a meal from McDonalds or you can get yourself some of the best orange or general Tao’s chicken in Maryland. I moved out of state and still drive 1.5 hours to this spot on occasion. Try the orange chicken, general tso chicken, shrimp toast, and the egg rolls. The egg drop soup is solid and I believe they also have great hot and sour soup. You can’t go wrong with these options 👍🏼.
For the rest of you complaining, I was born and raised in Pasadena. It doesn’t need another McDonald’s or Royal farms. You talk about supporting your community, but try to negatively impact a locally owned and operated establishment with 1 star reviews because you don’t like the prices? Try reaching out to the owners and having a conversation next time before you jump on your soapbox and lose one of the last remaining family run businesses in the area. Show up in a positive way for your community and watch it begin to change.
To the folks at Ho Wok- thank you for the awesome memories and food over the years. As a kid, I’d always request Ho Wok orange chicken for my special “birthday meals” and it always meant the world to me. Thank you for giving back to Pasadena over the years.

Almost $17 for “seafood of the house”, and that includes 3 breaded shrimp that are mushy, 1 scallop (the foulest I have ever tasted), and 2 pieces of lobster. With a variety of unpleasant vegetables, ungodly amount of slimy mushrooms. I can deal with a mixup on food or a mistake but this was just the restaurant being cheap. More worried about saving a few dollars then give someone what they paid for. If I could give this -2 stars, I would. If you want your hard earned money to be wasted, then I guess go here.

Best Chinese place in Maryland. I’ve been eating at many Chinese food places in Md , from Towson, lutherville, timonioum, Aberdeen Elton & Anne Arundel County for nearly 50 years. Never have I had such quality & quantity as I have gotten like Ho Wok. Always fresh & cooked perfectly , Mr & Mrs Ho are very nice & professional y mannered best family oriented both in restaurant & delivery. I only order from Ho Wok. In fact I’m waiting for them to open today 3:30 so I can order some ckn broccoli & steamed dumplings 5 stars all the way

This is the best Chinese food! I love the pork egg foo young, beef and broccoli and more and the egg rolls..the best!! I have been getting there food for around 30 years.
The crab rangoons were very oniony. The meat in the Singapore rice noodles tasted old, the dish tasted burnt but was still somewhat edible I just ate around the meat but couldn't finish because the dish was so salty. The beef and mushrooms tasted....bad, not one person out of six people in my house would eat. The egg drop soup was good. The egg rolls were greasy but very good.
