Went on a quiet weeknight. We both had burgers which were both pretty darn good. Service was excellent, never had to call anyone over to refill a drink.

Oscars Alehouse in Pasadena is an absolute gem! From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is warm, lively, and welcoming — the kind of place that instantly feels like your new favorite hangout. The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, striking the perfect balance between laid-back and professional. The beer selection? Phenomenal. Whether you're into local craft brews, seasonal specialties, or classic favorites, there's something for every palate. And the bartenders really know their stuff — they’re happy to make recommendations and even offer samples if you’re undecided. The food is way beyond typical pub fare. Everything is fresh, flavorful, and generously portioned. The burgers are juicy and perfectly cooked, the wings are legendary, and the crab dip? Just wow. You can tell the kitchen takes pride in every dish. Add in live music, TVs for the game, and a crowd that’s always upbeat — it’s the kind of place you want to come back to again and again. Whether you're out with friends, on a casual date, or just grabbing a solo pint, Oscars Alehouse delivers every time. Highly recommend checking it out — you won’t be disappointed! I recently visited Oscar with my partner for a dinner night out. We were told the wait time would be about 15 minutes, which we were fine with. Unfortunately, I missed the call notifying us our table was ready by about 5 minutes. When I called back, I was told the table had been given away, which I understood. While we waited for the next available table, we stood outside until a host came out to tell us our table was being cleaned. We came inside, assuming it would be ready soon. However, while we waited inside, a family of three arrived and was immediately seated at the table we had been told was being prepared for us. Instead, we were given a different table—one in the corner, next to the bathroom. As the only people of color in the restaurant at that time, the experience left us feeling extremely uncomfortable and racially profiled. It was disheartening, especially because I’ve always loved Oscar and have happily driven 30 minutes just to dine there. After this experience, however, I won’t be returning, and I’ll be sharing what happened with others.
Totally uninspiring and unremarkable.
6 smallish wings for $13??? Check your scale because that's not a pound. They were also dried out like they had been sitting under a warmer for a long period of time.
French onion soup = bland broth, hardly any onion, they use salad croutons instead of French bread, the croutons turn into a soggy mess.
Cheese steak was decent, as was the Buffalo chicken sammich.
The order delivery lagged so some people got their order ahead of time while others waited.
There are much better options in the area to choose from and based on this experience we probably won't be back.

The broccoli cheese soup tasted like flour, as did the gravy in the chicken pot pie. The carrots inThe pot pie were cut large and still firm to chew. The gravy did not have a good flavor. The cook needs to go back to school. The waitress was ok, but she never offered to refill my water or my husband's soda. And for some strange reason, when she was cleaning off the table next to us, she put the bottle of catsup on our table. No other empty tables had it and we were having the pot pie. I guess she was too busy to put it away.
Disappointed

We visited Oscars Ale House East recently, and unfortunately, the experience fell short of expectations. Upon arrival, my fiancée had to wait an unusually long time for service, which set a disappointing tone for the visit.
Once service began, I was handed the incorrect beer, and my order of Steak & Cheese Eggrolls was mistakenly replaced with Tex Mex Eggrolls.
While the restaurant was busy, the service could have been much better. Attention to detail and responsiveness are critical, and both were lacking during our visit. We were hoping for a better experience, but this visit left us feeling let down.

Honestly this one hurts to write… we have been coming here for a LONG time and NEVER EVER had an experience in there like this… first off the hostess absolutely couldn’t care snotty sarcastic smirking person… then sat down and waited… and waited… and waited as we watched the waitresses roll silverware WHILE EATING… ok we were out… stopped and asked a waitress to see the manager… waited… waited… waited… nope we are done and spreading the word… this location is falling down… so sad…

The best burger I have ever had! After coming here once (honestly by accident) we have come back at least once a month (sometimes more like a few times a week). The BBQ burger is my favorite but I like the burger of the week options as well, it's nice to have that menu change! Crab dip is great, the bread pudding is good (not sure if that is seasonal though).
Parking: Parking is easy! Lots of parking in a normal parking lot, no parallel parking required.

The French fries and queso were perfect. My pesto steak sandwich? Not so much. The steak was cooked medium rare versus medium well. I don't send food back for multiple reasons. Clearly, the person in the kitchen is not reading things or doesn't know how to cook a steak.
Can't seem to get anyone to hire me anywhere. But this is becoming a ridiculously constant issue everywhere, and I'm tired of speaking up because nothing changes to benefit me.
My bartender was perfect.
So, one that note. Everything else was fine. I could care less about anyone else. I'm just supposed to come in, order my food, eat, pay, and leave. The rest is up to you.

Pumpkin beers were phenomenal. Stacy is a gem. Love her to death ? Quiet Brian was attentive and informative. Would recommend the Eldersburger with mustard, red onions and fries. (No lettuce/tomato) aka The Sean ❤️
