Not my favorite coffee house in the world - it's local, which is definitely convenient - however it isn't where I would spend my time reading or working on personal projects. Second Alarm is the perfect spot to catch up with a friend for an hour, but not more than that.The chairs are hardwood and unfortunately a little uncomfortable. The couches/large cushioned chairs they offer, while nice, do not offer the ability to work on them unless you want to use your lap as a desk.There *is* a table off to the side that is placed against a wall for something exactly like that, however that brings me back to the hardwood chairs.I don't personally enjoy it when my butt hurts from sitting on a hard chair after an hour. Decent place regardless, just wouldn't be my first choice.

Place was surprisingly great. I expected it to be good but it was better. I got a bacon egg and cheese on a bagel and regular coffee and definitely worth the $10.
