This restaurant came highly recommended by my hair stylist. I entered an order on the website thru Chinese menu online. I called 30 min after my order was projected to be READY and the restaurant hadn't received my order... after rattling off my order number, address, and order, the child-like voice told me that the order just arrived to them. But the credit card number wasn't there. "Sometimes it glitches out"... currently expecting my food 75 min later than initially told (2.5 hours after I ordered).. with no food and a long wait, I'd offer 1 star at best. Will update after food shows up.UPDATE: food finally showed up... it is nowhere near what we expected. Soggy sesame chicken, raw beef on a stick, barely cooked broccoli. Sushi roll was decent as was the fried rice. Large is 3-4 servings.

Very good. Smaller portions so I don't feel wasteful because I normally have left overs. Several vegan options.

This restaurant use to serve descent food, I called last week to place my regular order, they charged me $2.00 for extra egg in a small shrimp fried rice. I got home and immediately knew something was different. I called and the restaurant is under new management. They attempted to make me believe that this owner has owned the place for 3 years; that maybe true but the cooks aren't the same. I'm done with them!

JUST DON'T! Big Trouble with With Mr. Chan! I SOOOOO wanted to finally find my "favorite Chinese restaurant/spot"'. Being a fellow New Yorker and a San Francisco Bay Area resident, I've lost all hope for Baltimore/County/Maryland. If anyone knows of any good provenance Chinese restaurants or spots, HOLLA!! First, the food is some of the NASTIEST Chinese food I've ever eaten and sadly here in Baltimore/County! I so wanted to give this place a chance as I saw some healthy alternatives such as the "chicken brown fried rice with kale" ((Yahoo, Right))?...NOPE!!. When I got the rice dish, it had no "kale" but instead replaced with nasty green peas! I was charged $4 for the rice dish, but I called and complained and they gave me a credit for my next order. I will NOT be coming back after spending $58 for this! In a COVID economy, paying for food like this is tragic! Maybe the chief or cooks quit today? Not taking another chance! "Fool me once".I HONESTLY could've gone to "Golden Dragon" and received better food/service. Honestly, the food prep and items looks as if they were thrown into a pan with no care, flavor or seasoning. The chicken in my low-mein and my fried rice where not evenly diced or cut with care or prep or slice the meat-chunks where thrown into the pan or dish (see pics below)-all cook/prepared by a kid!! I cannot lie as my pictures speak for themselves!! The shrimp egg roll was hardly filled with vegetables and shrimp!! You only see and taste GREASE and cabbage (see below)! The fried chicken wings were barely at best eatable (filled with fat and grissle). To make matters worst, the DoorHub guy barely understood English and didn't read the clear instructions and I almost had to go in the rain to get my food!...UGGGH!

Shrimp wasn't exactly fresh. Who on the planet earth, doesn't know what Budweiser is? Answer: this place. No knowledge of it, nor is it carried.

The avocado/shrimp salad is exquisite, with a refreshing and delicate seasoning. The beef sticks are amazing, I have never eaten such tender meat in any Chinese restaurant, the soups are delicious. I even had a lamb shank there that was divine. Most Baltimoreans order the same thing in every Chinese restaurant they go to. This one deserves to be treated like a gourmet experience. Everything is fresh and high quality. The place is unpretentious, but it has a friendly and warm atmosphere. This place has been an institution in Baltimore for many years within the Jewish community. I am French and I know good food. Trust me on this!

They charged me $3 more than my bill. I picked up the food personally. The food was also subpar.

This is an unassuming neighborhood restaurant that is now doing take out only. But when I dined here it was quite enjoyable. Added amenities over the years include a sushi bar and TV. Plenty of close by parking. Pricing on par with comparable restaurants.

I ordered shrimp tempura and shrimp with cheese sushi, very good, i also ordered pork fried rice, it was too greasy and the flavor was an odd. I never knew fried rice to have red onions, disgusting! If i decides to return it will only be for the sushi

Mr. Chan's has sadly descended from four or five stars to one. I have been going here for 17 years. I have always loved it for its great vegan options in the ghetto of West Baltimore, even before vegan was cool and trendy and all the young people were doing it a couple days per week. I haven't returned as frequently as I used to eat there in recent years because we moved farther away. My kids still beg for it. We went back for the first time in six months or so today. It was a shockingly bad experience. The first clue that something was very wrong hit me upon entering the vestibule. There is a fountain there with fish in it that is so poorly cared for, the smell overwhelms upon arrival. Mr. Chan's has used some serious institutional-grade urinal mint cleanser to try to cover up the Essence of Fish Tank Algae Smell overwhelming the small room. The combination of the two smells is nauseating. I'd almost rather have the Eau de Fish Tank without the attempt to cover it. I wondered to myself if I was getting a stomach bug or just grossed out by the smell. It reminded me of the time my husband dumped a whole bottle of Febreeze into a rental car after my son puked in it. I pressed forward, priding myself on not being prissy about the delivery of food. The next hint of problem was we were the only people eating in the restaurant, besides the manager and her son, who were eating food not on the menu, and a Salvadorean man drinking Asahi, not eating. The manager wouldn't get up from her lunch to take our order, so I walked over and asked if we could order. We could, and I got my old-time favorite, the yuba scallion wrap, while my daughter got the seitan Hunan style. The lunch specials come with soup and spring rolls. My hot and sour soup arrived, and it was clear management and chefs and real serious stuff had changed. The soup was the texture of a sinus infection. My daughter's wonton soup was the best part of the lunch, and it was so hot that we both burnt our mouths on it. Yes, we are stupid enough that we were each embarrassed enough about burning our mouths that we didn't tell the other, but when I spat the soup on the table, she told me that's why she was taking infinitesimally small bites. But it was pretty good! I asked for water to try to relieve the burns. It was delivered by the waitress's seven-year-old son. There were things floating in it that looked like fish food. But I was stuck on the fish tank thing still; I was assured they were lemon. (Now, I'm not so sure.) Next, my yuba scallion wrap arrived. I have always loved this dish there. But when it arrived, the outside was the color of my pale half-Jewish skin. The inside of the scallion pancake was uncooked flour, and the outside was gummy, oily, and wet. When it was good in the past, it looked like more like the Salvadorean man, still drinking his Asahi and not eating anything at the next table over. Part of the scallion pancake wrap was cold. At this point, I realized they are using frozen scallion pancakes, and maybe always had been, and my world started to fall apart a bit. I complained and sent it back. I never send things back. I have too much social anxiety for that, usually. When I complained to the waitress/manager, she stuck her finger directly into the middle of my food. I thought that was a bizarre technique, but I respected her forthright attitude. I reminded myself I have a good immune system when she told me they'd fix it. My daughter's seitan Hunan style arrived. It was edible and a decent temperature, but not good. She only ate part of it because she was hungry. It was delivered, perplexingly, without the spring roll, even though my screwed up food was delivered with a spring roll. My plate was gone at this point. We were told they were working on her spring roll. My food returned. One of the four pieces was perplexingly absent. But the other three were all as pale as before, but now gummier. It was pretty inedible. I tried to pawn one off on my kid. She wouldn't eat it, either,

Crab Rangoon's had no taste and semi soggy.. very little filling to them. Slight crab taste and no cream cheese. The general tsaos chicken was hot and a great portion but no taste as well. Ordered Uber eats delivery so the packaging and delivery was on point but the foodd quality was sub par. My friend got the reisterstown roll and claimed it was good.

Good place, vegan and vegetarian options. Not my first choice if they get busy as service and food lacks.

Loved the food and service.

I ordered delivery from Mr Chan on Christmas Day, so I expected it to be a little delayed, but that was okay with me. After 1 hour of waiting (the restaurant is around 10 minutes away from my apartment) I decided to call the restaurant. I was left on voicemail several times, but when they did pick up I was left on hold for several minutes, but they did not mute the speaker. I could hear everything the hostess was saying to customers and fellow staff members. After several minutes they hung up on me. I finally did receive my order, but the food was terrible. My family and I ordered spare ribs, the deluxe fried rice, wonton soup, and shrimp spring rolls. The spare ribs appeared to be 90% fat and were oversauced, the "deluxe" fried rice appeared to be very seasoned but tasted like the smell of urine and the meats had zero flavor, the "shrimp" spring rolls did not contain shrimp, and the "wonton" soup was wonton-less. Grand total: ~$40. When I called the restaurant to report my issues they continuously left me on voicemail and hung up on me. While I wanted to give the staff the benefit of the doubt (it was Christmas), the quality of food, the accuracy of my delivery compared to my order, and the terrible customer service made me absolutely livid. I will NOT be returning to this restaurant ever again. Other AMAZING Chinese restaurants in the area are Jasmine Asian Bistro and Dragon Best Restaurant, so I recommend you take your business to those establishments. I am very disappointed.

Their food is so delicious! If you're a vegetarian, their selection is above and beyond any other Chinese restaurant I've ender been to. I always get the spicy orange Yuba or the spicy orange seitan and they're SO delicious! My mouth is watering just thinking about it. And for those who aren't vegetarians, the selection is huge! And of course, beyond delicious and tasty. I usually get take out but the restaurant is pretty well - sized with lots of tables of your looking to done in. The staff is always very polite. I moved to Baltimore 20 years ago and Mr. Chan's was there then (I don't know how many years it was open before that but I wouldn't be surprised if it was many years earlier). And the fact that it's still open today says a lot about their food and their regular customers. I can think of very few restaurants that have been open as many years. So give it a try. You will be very happy you did.
