Awesome service, awesome decor, nothing basic about this restaurant at all. The owners were pleasant to talk too and made you feel welcomed! You want be dissatisfied with the menu or your visit.

Visiting this area and discovered this restaurant in my map app. Photos of the food looked good so I decided to give takeout a try. This place DID NOT DISAPPOINT! You can taste the love in this food. I had the Maryland Hot Chicken Sandwich and the Heavenly Heat Mac and Cheese. The generous portions and perfectly spiced food was delicious. Even though you may be full, don't pass up Miss Edna's Pound Cake. I saved this for breakfast this morning- the buttery, lemon, melt in your mouth dessert will put a smile on your face.

This restaurant deserves more than 5 stars! The food, the service, EVERYTHING was incredible! My husband planned a mini getaway for the two of us. We had dinner at The Holy Hell Kitchen, and we LOVED everything from the time we stepped through the door. They made us feel welcome. The food was so delicious. We started out with the biscuits, and OMG, they melted in your mouth so so good. I had the shrimp and grits, and my husband had the pork chop. We usually don't share food, but it was so good we wanted each other to try the dish! Do yourself a favor and have dinner at The Holy Hell Kitchen! We will be back very soon. This time we're bringing more people with us!

The chicken was good. After waiting an hour that is.... We ordered and we were told that there would be a five minute wait for potatoes. It was not a five minute wait for potatoes, it was about a 45 minute wait for the food.... The sides leave a lot to be desired. The potatoes are pretty good but, the mac & cheese is dry. How is a macaroni and cheese with five cheeses dry? I am mind blown. But, the chicken was good. Also, besides the wait, the customer service was good. They were very nice and they gave us a piece of their cake for the wait.

Such a great place! Everyone is incredibly friendly and it feels like eating at a friend's place. The food is amazing, had the fried green tomatoes (I ate them before taking photo - they were delicious) and the hot chicken and waffles *chefs kiss* so good. Arguably the best fried chicken in Southern Maryland. Brunch is awesome, but definitely make reservations if you can as it gets busy. Can't wait to come back

Ok so first off what brought me here was the 5 star rating on Yelp. I've never seen that for a restaurant under the $$$ range. Secondly I'm from the south. So you can't tell me you have fried chicken and it not be amazing because I will talk about you. But this place...omg Wait let me take you to the first entrance where your hostess will greet you and seat you quickly. Should def get a reservation because they are often quite busy on the weekends. Once seated your server comes and greets you and even recommends various items on the menu. I got the fried green tomatoes, southern biscuits, as well as the Holy chicken, with a waffle on the side. From first bite until my belly was too full to eat more it was delicious. Crispy and fried perfection with ripe green tomatoes and juicy chicken. Then they offered us pound cake. Met the owner and he's a good man, can't wait to see how far this business goes!

Absolutely the best fried chicken I've had up north. I had the Maryland Hot Chicken & Waffles and it tasted like the same good old fried chicken and waffles I would get in Charleston. Such friendly service, chatted with some of the staff, and received the sweetest thank you note for dining. Can't wait to come back here!

This is by far the best restaurant I've eaten at in more years than I can remember. The food was amazing! The service was the best! My husband and I ended up talking with the owner/chef for about an hour just learning his story. This place sits in a older strip mall right next to the wise grocery store, so you don't expect it to exceed any expectations, but boy did it! This man can cook comfort food! We will be returning customers and bringing as many people with us as we can. If you go on a Sunday be sure to get a reservation or you might not get a table. The food is all prepared fresh. None of that frozen pre-fab food like you get at some of the chain's restaurants.

First class operation from start to finish! The food was amazing, reasonably priced and the Rickses were beyond gracious. Can't recommend highly enough!

We had an amazing brunch here this morning. Wished we had found this place months ago, but so glad we know about it now. We were greeted so warmly and everyone is so friendly here...true Southern hospitality at it's finest. The food was amazing and the portions were very generous. We tried the J*** chicken nachos, Fish, Shrimp and Grits, and Fried Chicken with a waffle on the side. It all was superb. Everything was cooked perfectly and came out quickly. The flavors were phenomenal. By far the best restaurant we've found in Calvert County so far. The best part though were the people... what a great family run establishment.

FINALLY...A restaurant worth its weight in quality, taste, presentation and customer service! I came upon this place driving around and let me tell you, it's THE TRUTH! Delicious, freshly prepared home style food with tons of flavor. It's family owned and the chief, his beautiful wife and their team are about quality food and service. I ordered the fried green tomatoes and they were amazing. In fact some of the best I've had in years. The crust was crispy and you could feel the texture of the corn meal. The tomatoes were cut thick as not to lose taste or texture. And the drizzle elevated the flavor even more. I can't wait to bring my daughter back tomorrow. For entrees I order 1) burger with a side of their jalapeño Mac & Cheese; and 2) the waffles with fried chicken. OMG, everything was exquisite. Did I already say how fresh this food is? It's like Mom/Dad or the best cook in your family served you dinner. The burger was all beef, no fillers, thick and juicy...which says a lot because I eat my burgers well-done. Truly delicious. It comes with a bacon jam that is cheesy bacon deliciousness. The mac and cheese, is really lovely, not at all spicy as you would think given they have jalapeños added...the flavor is on point. It's not too salty, or too peppery and the cheese is wonderful. Well seasoned and tender fried chicken thighs come on top of a waffle and chief adds a surprise flavoring of orange zest throughout the waffle and on top of the chicken. You've got to try it to truly appreciate the flavor. The syrup is sweet without being overpowering and is served on the side so you can add what you wish. I even ordered an order of smoked ribs (only available Fri-Sun while supplies last) & collards to take home. More about them later. I've found my new favorite spot!!! Look forward to bringing my family back this weekend.

Man this place is awesome. GREAT homemade food prepared by a GREAT staff. We had Fried Green Tomatoes, Chicken & Waffles, and Fried Chicken from their brunch menu. Their Jalepeno Mac & Cheese is always amazing. We are repeat customers! Do yourself a favor and check this place out!! They have limited hours but are a fantastic local business that you have to try!

If I could give 10 stars I would! This was a dining experience to remember. I'll start with the customer service experience -- unparalleled. We traveled from DC to Lusby for a day trip and The Holy Hell Kitchen was our first stop. The owners and staff made us (and our pup) feel extremely welcomed from the moment we sat down. Everyone was so attentive from beginning to end. They even kindly included some extra to-go treats for us after we mentioned that today is our anniversary. By the way, this speaks to how both owners and staff take the time to get to know their customers. On to the food -- wow! We started with the fried green tomatoes which were perfectly seasoned and cooked (sometimes fried tomatoes taste mushy or are overly battered - not here!). Would highly recommend as an appetizer. For our entrees we ordered the 1) steak & eggs and 2) gospel chick (fried chicken). The portions were more than generous and the flavor was unforgettable. Both meats were juicy and cooked just right. Finally, the side dishes (collard greens, potatoes, Mac and cheese) were extremely fresh and were the perfect complements to the main dishes. We will absolutely be back (most likely with more friends) from DC just to visit this restaurant.

Fantastic food and great service! Everything we had was awesome (fried green tomatoes, burger, chicken and waffles, and pound cake). Will be returning again!

A true culinary experience for this Foodie. My husband and I love unique and singular culinary experiences. Since moving to Maryland it's been hard to find restaurants that are truly genuine. This place, people, IS INCREDIBLE! We started our meal off with Fried Green Tomatoes that were perfect! Crunchy outside bursting with flavor with a light spice from the creamy siracha dressing. It just got better from there. Next, I ordered the WTF Burger with a side of Mac and cheese and guys, this was straight up drool-worthy. This is now, literally my favorite burger ever! It's the perfect combination of sweet and salty that I have never truly experienced with a burger. This may be the only thing I ever order from Holy Hell since this burger just blew my mind! The Mac and Cheese has jalapeños and since I'm not much of a spicy food fan, I treaded lightly, but honestly I didn't care about the spice, it.was.AWESOME! My husband ordered the chicken and waffles and shared a piece with me. The honey maple syrup with pepper flakes was such a beautiful combination to the beloved dish. The chicken was cooked perfectly and seasoned well. Although this wasn't my meal, I would recommend as well. We completed this feast with lemon pound cake and it was buttery, light and had a simple delicate flavor that made it sensational. Additionally our waitress was engaging and echoed a true Southern spirit. She also encouraged us to review the table topics located in a small box on the table. I loved it! To top off our wonderful experience, we had additional visits from the chef and team and they sent us home with a hand written note and two Hershey hugs. Holy Hell, I hope you expand to Dunkirk, but we would drive the 30+minutes to get to your restaurant any day, it was that outstanding!
