Excellent service and great food! We shared all our dishes. Sesame chicken, Kung pao chicken, crispy beef, chicken scallion pancakes all were amazing!

We ordered our Christmas Day dinner from this restaurant and spent $162, expecting a special holiday meal. What we received was completely unacceptable.

One of the main dishes — chicken and string beans — arrived with NO CHICKEN at all. Just a sad container of limp, overcooked string beans swimming in oil. Everything else in the order was mushy, overcooked, flavorless, and honestly inedible. This wasn’t “not great” food — it was food that could not be eaten.

On a normal day this would be disappointing. On Christmas Day, when restaurants know families are counting on them, it’s downright infuriating. There was zero quality control, zero attention to detail, and zero care for the customer experience.

Spending $162 to throw an entire dinner in the trash is unacceptable. This ruined what was supposed to be a special holiday meal, and I would never order from here again. Save your money and your holiday — do not recommend.

i love you, sonny lees. this place has been around since i was a (dumb) child. we would pass it in the car and i always thought it said “human taste”, because i was a dumb child. once i got older and learned what words meant and i ate there, i fell in love. they are the only place that does a veggie eggroll in an eggroll wrapper, and to me, that is beautiful. there is a reason they stay busy, and there is a reason they’ve been here so long. i will sing your praises forever.

Just had takeout for the first time in many years. The decline is notable. The eggdrop soup had a funky taste and not much egg. The spareribs were incredibly fatty. Could not believe the Peking duck has changed so much from past years. The pancake is much smaller and now see-through. The skin was not crispy at all, The special sauce is now liquidy and lacks flavor. The Hunan beef was way too hot, just not enjoyable. Very sad since this restaurant was our go to when it was in Randallstown and many years in Reisterstown. No more. Can’t go back.

After reading the reviews I went and brought the shrimp and broccoli. The broccoli was soggy and the white rice was very mushy. 🤮 I also got the lo mein and it was very dry and no flavor. I will not be returning. This was very disappointing 😞

It may be on the expensive side, but that’s the price you pay for genuinely delicious food.

The best food you will find in the area! We live in Pennsylvania and drive the 50 minutes to have dinner here. The owners are so friendly, food is always fresh, and the restaurant is always clean. From the bathrooms being immaculate, to the tables, to the plates. We have never had an issue here. If you haven’t tried this place you are missing out.

Boyfriend and I came here on a whim and wow! Genuinely among the best restaurant experiences I’ve ever had—no exaggeration! Service was SPECTACULAR, and the food was the best Chinese I’ve had in a long while. Will be my new go-to spot for sure. BYOB and full of freebies. If you’re considering it, definitely give this place a visit.

I recently visited Sonny Lee Chinese Restaurant. The food and service were both good, especially for the price, which made the dining experience worthwhile. That being said, the interior of the restaurant really needs attention. From the moment you walk in, there’s dust on the door, and the furniture, carpet, and overall décor feel very old and worn down. It gives the impression that the place hasn’t been updated in a long time.

With some investment in renovations and a fresh look, this restaurant could easily be a 10 all around, because the food and service are already solid. Right now though, the condition of the interior really takes away from the experience.
