We sat at a wooden bar under an umbrella with a gorgeous view of the water. Country music playing and it felt very local. Had scallops appetizer over puréed root vegetables. It was savory and wonderfully spiced. 3 root veggies that were colorful and tasty underneath a generous portion of 5 scallops. My husband had Italian mussels and loved them. For dinner, I had double crab cakes with veggies and a large sized side salad which I took home. The chef was kind enough to prepare the veggies with no butter or oil and they were good. Small
Carrots with the stems on them, fingerling potatoes and zucchini. They kept the drinks coming and were friendly and prompt but not intrusive. The bathrooms were clean and well done. Says a lot. I would definitely go back. It was fun.

I keep looking at the menu, hoping to see something that appeals to various tastes. Since it doesn't seem like that will never happen, we tried SALT. Wow, what a disappointment. Get rid of your high class chef and get someone who understands their audience, their area of the country even. Food is too pretensious for everyday people, or maybe that's the point, to avoid pleasing everyday people. Kind of sad because you could really have something great but instead, you are striving for pricing normal people out and fixing food that only caters to a particular class of people

Best thing to happen to the lower Potomac's food scene in a long time. Service, food, decor and attention of the wait staff are a cut above anything I've seen in the area.

Been here twice. Both times are FIVE ratings. Best Grouper sandwich anywhere. Incredible. And... new on the menu... brussel sprouts.... also excellent. And... BIG PLUS... they allow dogs. We spent all afternoon. Reasonably priced. Courteous, polite service. Did I mention the Grouper? Just unbelievable. I could LIVE THERE, except it's 100 miles from my house.

Discovered this spot while on a weekend getaway and ended up going two days in a row. The atmosphere and view of the water can't be beat. The menu includes a bunch of classics done really well. The crab dip and crab cake are chock full of crab. Fried chicken sandwich, steamed shrimp, housemade chips, and hush puppies were all delicious.

If I could give this place negative stars, I would. Zero would be too generous.
We tried this place because several misguided souls on Facebook dared to compare it to Lighthouse in Solomons. We love Lighthouse. This was not even close. It was like expecting a vacation in the Maldives and arriving at a dumpster fire behind a gas station.
We drove 40 minutes based on the lies—er, menu—on their website. Upon arrival, we were immediately greeted by a cloud of flies and the stench of regret. They offered our 1-year-old a high chair so crusted in filth, it should’ve come with a hazmat warning. But hey, we were here. Might as well see if things could somehow get worse. Spoiler alert: they did.
Service? If watching paint dry is too fast-paced for you, you’ll love it here.
• 10 minutes to get drinks.
• 10 more to even order apps.
• 15 more to place our order.
I’ve had Amazon packages delivered from overseas faster.
The menu? Total catfish. What’s online is a fantasy novel. What they hand you is some kind of minimalist tragedy. All the items we came for? Not even on it. When we asked, they casually admitted the website is “out of date.” Fantastic.
They dropped off three open cups of water—one allegedly for our toddler, who was in a high chair one sneeze away from a CDC visit. Apparently, basic safety and hygiene are optional here.
Despite the 4.5 stars I assume were paid for or hallucinated, the place wasn’t even busy. For a waterfront restaurant on a Saturday night in summer, that’s the red flag of all red flags.
My husband tried to order the grouper sandwich until a nearby table started loudly warning each other about how awful and over-breaded it was. So he pivoted to the brisket flatbread. Plot twist: they were out of brisket. The waitress “forgot” to tell us. Classic.
He waited 30 minutes for a beer refill that never came. We eventually begged for the bill just to escape.
The food? Trash with a garnish.
• Buttered noodles for our baby = overpriced bowtie pasta floating in dishwater.
• Mahi tacos = dry, overcooked fish in prehistoric tortillas.
• Southern fried chicken sandwich = edible but clearly held hostage while everything else got cold.
• Hush puppies = they were not bad. Would have been better with appetizer plates and if we hadn’t waited so long for them.
In summary: if you hate yourself, enjoy disappointment, and want to pay good money for a soul-crushing experience, this place is perfect. Otherwise, keep driving. Lighthouse isn’t just better—it’s in an entirely different universe of quality.
Never again. Ever.

Place is unreal, in the best way possible. Food is immaculate, never had a bad dish, we never have to wait. Kid friendly, outdoor and indoor options. Beautiful view. Unreal ambiance. The owner is one of the coolest laid back hardworking people I've met. The entire waitstaff is more than pleasant. I literally could go on and on. This place is an A++.

Our waitress, Angela, was great! Unfortunately, the rest of our experience was not. I have food allergies. I told our waitress about them while ordering and she did a great job of putting everything in for me- plain, no sauce or butter on the bun of sandwich. No biggie! I got my food, it had sauce and what looked like butter on the bun. Sent it back before it touched the table. Mind you it’s not a food preference, I literally cannot eat it without getting sick. Our waitress returned, immediately saw the sauce on my sandwich and tried to rectify it for me in the kitchen. We were sitting next to the kitchen, so we could hear the cook speaking nastily to her, as well as saying nasty things about me returning the sandwich. I was upset hearing him speak so nastily about my order, and our waitress had to leave early because she was so upset from how the cook spoke to her. The kitchen tried to return the sandwich back to me with the sauce still in it and without the side I ordered. The food itself was fine once I got it, but the whole experience with the kitchen being so nasty put a terrible taste in my mouth. All I can hope for is that our waitress is ok.
