Authentic Dominican flavor food.

I got the Shrimp mufungo and cheese empanada. The mufungo was awesome, and I would get it again. The major issue I had was the person. Answering the phone to take orders did not speak enough English to take the order. There was a lot if back and forth so I was not able to put in my order for lunch in advance to put in an order to pick up at a certain time so I was very rushed for my lunch hour at work

I always get chicharron whenever at a caridad-style spot. It was the driest pork belly I've ever had. The portions on everything was ridiculously inadequate and definitely over priced. After we paid the owner who says he cooks on certain days told us to come by again, telling us when he's in the kitchen it's different. Ha~ I would never go back there again.

On the upside, the server didn't speak any English, no hospitality experience, possibly under age to have a job(?) and very anxious because she could tell my Spanish wasn't as good as she thought, I've been told I have great pronunciation. Nonetheless, she was extremely attentive and you can see she was trying her best.

PS - Just look at the abundant shrimps...
We asked for more sauce for the mofongo and they gave us 'another' 2 oz. to-go portion cup with a lid.

I've been there a couples time and it's always something new. The tables and the menu was clingy. Then the lady took our order, when my food came I notice the salad was salty. My boyfriend had fried fish and almost took an hour for his food to be ready and the fish was burn, that plate cost $30 dollars'.

Next, we was the only one in the restaurant at that time and I had to keep calling the waiter because we was missing food.

Also, was not music at all. A Dominican restaurant with no music, that's crazy.

Ordered food last night through Uber Eats and the food was horrible. The rice tasted burnt. I ordered a picadera and the meats looked and tasted as if it was left overs and recooked. The empanadas arrived in a little paper bag totally soaked up in oil. I paid $56 and it was not eatable at all. Was so disappointed.

I didn't like the food. It's not my taste and too expensive, rather I feel like they took advantage of three plates of food and it cost me more than 100

Marisol was my server and she was absolutely amazing and personable! She answered any questions I had and was very patient with me! The food was delicious and came out fast and hot! The drinks were equally as great. Highly recommend eating here!

My friend USED to patronize this business daily. However, I didn't feel welcomed when entering the establishment. The owner is a mean-spirited woman who doesn't even try to greet guests and make a connection with them. Most restaurant owners are welcoming towards their guests. It is important to have people skills when working in the hospitality industry. Smh

I’ve been a couple of time and they were always out of my first choice, which has been a little disappointing. But whatever you pick will be delicious.

Their food is amazing!!! My favorites are their beef/chicken guiesado and their sancocho!!! Tastes like home cooked!! That’s the beef guiesado in the photo!

I went to the restaurant for the first time, since I arrived I felt a very Latin atmosphere, I confess that I was not sure if the food would be to my liking but definitely surpassed the exquisiteness as did Marisol who explained every detail of the menu to me with enthusiasm made me feel confident about ordering new meals, excellent costumer service

so I'm part 2 of teaching my husband the different types of authentic spanish cuisines, and so I had to take him to a hidden gem called Cabon Y Lena Dominican.

The drinks are strong, the food is seasoned to perfection, fulfilling but light, and the prices are bomb!! But those people not familiar with truely authentic dominican cuisine be warned you have to know how to place your order in order to make a complete meal. For example:

We ordered the chicken empandas as the appetizer, then the galic chicken with arroz con gandules, the chicken salad, and tostones for our meal. Then we got an empty plate and put a little on each dish on our plates to make the perfect meal.

For drinks, I had the casa migo w/ passion fruit, and my husband had it with coke.

This food literally took me back to the Dominican ?? Republic and tasted like someone's momma was in that kitchen throwing down.. ? ?

This is definitely being added to one of my lists of favorites.

It is the second time I come to this place and I had not rated it. I am Puerto Rican and the restaurant is Dominican, I make this clear so that they understand that I know the flavor of Dominican food. The place has plenty of parking, it is small with little space for large families, but cozy. It has a separate bar with direct access to the restaurant. I must say that both times it has not had a good air conditioning system. The bathroom is very clean and without gender distinction. As for the service, it was super efficient and fast despite the few tables there being full. The food I ordered the first time was a picadera for 2 that I don't know what it contains, but I ordered just fried pork and fried chicken with tostones. Only the picadera costs $35 and I was disappointed with the amount for so much money. The flavor could be improved since the pork was bland. The tasty chicken and the garlic for the spectacular tostones. On this occasion I ordered chicken chicharrón with tostones and homemade lemonade. Divine lemonade! The amount of food, enough for one person, was actually quite a lot. I'll upload a photo. The tostones are fresh and served with cabbage and tomato salad. The divine flavor, EVERYTHING! It's good that I gave them a second chance!
