Riviera Tapas Bar started off across the street and has been a staple in the Riverdale community for years. Had not been to this new location but finally made it in today for date night! Happy hour is HAPPY! Drinks and food menu for those who want a bargain. Wednesday - Happy Hour is till 8 p.m. Let's get into it! Datiles - Sweet with a salty taste! Yum! Glad my date ordered this! Yummy!!!!!! Gambas al Ajillo - Shrimp with Garlic Butter White Wine Sauce - Super super yummy! Bruselas - Steamed Brussel Sprouts with Garlic & Butter - Oh Yea! Steamed! Wasn't bad at all. Like it! Chuletitas De Cordero - Grilled Herb Lamb Chops with Fingerling Potatoes in a Demi- Glace Sauce - I liked it, my date said it was made Perfectly! Can't opine as I've never tried lamb chops. (Don't judge me) Vieiras A La Plancha- Pan Seared Blackened Scallops with Cauliflower Puree , Pine Nuts, Raisins & Butter Sauce - Exceeds expectations! Drink- Paloma was yummy! The garnish was a bit old tasting but the drink was perfect! My Date tried all sorts of drinks, and had no complaints! Definitely coming back! Love this is just a short walk away from home.

Tucked away in Riverdale, I'm really happy I stumbled upon Riviera Tapas! I stopped by for brunch and while the service was slow to start, once we were able to order, everything went smoothly. Some highlights for the bottomless drinks and food options included their mussels, empanadas, rice and patatas bravas. I also liked having different options for the bottomless drinks ... as a sangria lover, this was a huge plus. I will definitely be back for brunch but also looking forward to checking out their dinner menu too.

Scallops… were just WOW! Shrimp with Garlic was Spicy and perfectly cooked! Everything was hot, fresh and very, very tasty. Have a Riviera Mojito or their Red Sangria… Everything was excellent and prices were very reasonable! We will Definitely be back!

Came here for brunch on a Sunday with a group of friends and a reservation was made. We all ordered their bottomless brunch, including, but not limited to their mussels, potatoes bratva, hue os rancheros, omelettes, plantains, empanadas, etc... What's hot - Menu. Good variety. There's something for everyone- meats, veggies, and vegans. - Quality of food. Delicious. No complaints. All the food was nicely seasoned and not overly salty. Some people said their tomato toast was too soggy, though, so be aware of your preference. - Portions. Given the price you pay, it's pretty good value for money. For example, the mussels were a full bowl; each order of empanadas come with 2; the tomato toast comes with 4 per plate; etc.... - Price. For the bottomless brunch, it's $40 per person with alcoholic drinks. For just the bottomless brunch, it's $25 per person. Good value for money for the brunch. What's not - Acoustics. The music they play inside is much too loud! Even when we were one of the few tables with customers, we could barely hear each other during our conversations. This factor alone makes me not want to return, because if I can't even talk to the person I'm sitting next to or across from, there's no point dining in. - Service. Subpar. One of our friends made a reservation. When we arrived, one of their wait staff said there was no room for our group with a reservation. Not only was that contradictory to what we were originally told in that they would take our reservation, but it's also terrible customer service in saying there was no room, again; given that we made a reservation. Furthermore, the timing it takes for the food to come out is really hit or miss. For example, our group ordered 2 of the mussels. The first one arrived a quarter through our meal. The second order arrived towards the end. However, both orders were made at the same time in the beginning. Final Answer Given their terrible acoustics, I would not want to come back for dine-in. Willing to order takeaway.

It's a 'no' for me. As a caveat I did not try the cocktails and they looked very good. But the reason for my low star review is primarily the bartender/server who rang up my to-go order who was borderline rude and with stank attitude to boot. She does not need to be customer facing. I came in on a Saturday eve about 7pm. Upon walking in, the young lady who greeted me at the door and pointed me to the bar to place my carry out order was very friendly and kind. This was my first visit and I was looking around at how cute the place was and thinking of sharing it with friends. However, before I knew it the pleasant vibe turned into being totally put off and two seconds from sharing choice words. My chosen tapas dishes were ok, but overall could use a bit more flavor. But by no means can I speak to other dishes on the menu and there may be some great options. Yet, I would never go back based on my interaction with the person behind the bar and how unwelcome and irritated I left feeling. No one needs that when you walk into a place to spend money.
