Ava's Pizzeria & Wine Bar - St. Michaels

We enjoyed a great pizza and salad and happy hour wine and cocktails. Would definitely recommend this place.

Ava’s started off amazing with the Caesar salad and the Ma’s meatball alone and the sliders. The service was also attentive. The experience fell off from there drastically. I ordered the shrimp fra diavolo and it was literally pasta with a few shrimp in a pasta water sauce. Appetizers were awesome but don’t expect the entrees to be the same.

Great experience at Ava’s! On a Monday around 1 pm, we were seated right away in the bar area. I had the margherita pizza and my husband had the chicken cutlet BLT- both were delicious. I think they do the Neapolitan style pie very well, and I’m picky about pizza! Overall, the food came out quickly, the service was friendly, and we would eat there around if we are in the area!

Do you like dry pizza, that's mostly just crust? Does no cheese make it even better? How about 35 minutes to get that beer you ordered? For the chef's kiss, how about you and your food sitting directly beneath a dripping vent. If this sounds like a fun night out, then look no further! All joking aside, the place was a little busy, and the manager was clearly hustling. If the service was just slow, I wouldn't even give it a second thought. Our first server, who handed us off to tend bar, is the bar tender who took 35 minutes to fill the order that she took. Before our main dishes arrived, we asked our second server if we could relocate due to the 'rainfall', but we were told that all other tables were being held for reservations. The empty table next to us sat empty for most of the time after we asked to switch, but was then taken by a couple that walked in with no reservation. I was excited by this place and the excellent reviews, but needless to say we won't be returning.

Come here all the time, love the place but man is the service so hit or miss.

Went last night for my s/o’s birthday. Got put on a wait list despite many open tables. After 40 minutes I walked back in, and asked again and was seated after a few minute shuffle, still never got a waitlist text. After being seated it took approximately 20min for a server to see us, with drinks and all food put in at the same time. We got drinks approx 5 minutes later, s/o’s salad came out 12 minutes after that. Food took an hour to come out. By the time we got it we just wanted to go home, so I asked for the check and box’s, which took another 10 minutes or so to get. During this time multiple other tables were sat, ate, and left.

All in all we spent over 2 hours here to not even eat, in a place that wasn’t that busy. I’m sure the food is as good as it usually is even though I haven’t gotten to eat it, but it’s an awful experience on an otherwise wonderful day. We got sent home with a couple donuts and 10% off for our non-dining experience. I’m sure I’ll come back at some point, but if I have to wait longer than 10 minutes to see a server again I’ll just be walking out and going elsewhere.

Stopped in for lunch, from beginning to end our lunch experience was awesome. Katie B along with Zooey made a great team assisting us with menu choices and servicing our table. Ordered the oysters and Chef's Favorite pizza, we enjoyed both. Ava's Aperol Spritz was also an exceptional drink.

Great food, great service! I had a mushroom tart pizza on GF crust with vegan cheese that was actually outstanding! My friend had the mushroom ravioli also reportedly fantastic. The server had great energy and was so good. We will be regulars here!

The pizza (particularly Detroit style) and Cesar salad were both very good. The service was good and accommodating to young families.
