We stopped in for breakfast and thoroughly enjoyed our food and the atmosphere. The food was well prepared and the portions were large. The service was excellent as well. If you want a good breakfast in Saint Michaels, I recommend Cafe 401.

Intimate and warm setting. Lovely service and a most awesome brunch.
Have been wanting to try breakfast here for a while. It did not disappoint. The eggs benedict was excellent. Super nice staff and and cute lil place. Will definitely return!
Great food, service, and atmosphere.
The best food and the best staff in St. Michael's! I know some of y'all from Oxford! The menu is delightful. It's different! The specials are worth looking for daily! I look forward to their menu! You must try! Thank you Chef Mike and Gretchen!!
Delightful dinner venue. Wonderful menu and excellent service.
Options to sit inside or outside, half entree availability was an ideal solution for us, friendly, accommodating and effective staff, specials were surprisingly good.
My wife and I dined at the Cafe 401 last week… absolutely wonderful! From the wine specials to scallops and chateau brion , fantastic! Service was great as well as meeting the Chef .. we have dined in France and Italy and this is in the top 10.. hats off to the crew and chef for a great dinner!!!

If you haven’t tried Cafe 401 you are truly missing out!!! George recommended a fabulous wine with dinner. Michael knocked it out of the park with his baked oysters as an appetizer. The pan seared chateaubriand and honey glazed lavender salmon was out of this world. Last but far from the least the strawberry panda cotta was awesome. Congratulations to your entire team; we cannot wait to eat at Cafe 401 again.
Great food, service, and atmosphere.
We ate at Cafe 401 for the first time in August, and we highly recommend it. It is a bit pricier than some of the other high-quality restaurants, but it's now our new favorite restaurant in St. Michael's! We sat outside on the lovely patio, had great service and enjoyed fabulous meals. My husband and I agree that their cream of crab soup is the best we've had. It's a must-try if you eat here. I ordered the scallops with white pepper infused mashed potatoes and a sweet corn succotash. Not only was the presentation appealing, but every bite was delicious. My husband had the crab cakes with the same sides as the scallops. I'm so glad that I saved room for dessert because the creme brulee was amazing. The whole dining experience here was one of the highlights of our vacation!
I was delighted with my decision to try out this new restaurant in town. Two friends had already given me rave reviews about the food. My salmon dish with mashed potatoes and asparagus was perfection. The Caesar salad was light and refreshing. Cute outside courtyard. Great service. Kudos to the Chef and staff!
Very small place. Mikela was very nice. Sadly no bar, only wine and some specialty drinks. Appetizers were very good. Ordered the full dinner and we should have ordered the 1/2. Too much food. Food was good. Crab cakes and meat loaf were very good. Worth a visit, but not inexpensive.
