Stopped in on a rainy Saturday last week for lunch. First, service was poor. The waitress was unable to tell us what beers were on tap or in can, then finally after many questions, she leaned over and picked up a drink menu. I ordered the MP crab cake sandwich. It was dry and tasteless-a handful of potato chips were tossed onto the plate in a hap-hazzard manner. The plate was too large for the meal so things looked pretty scanty-though there was enough food-just ugh. ($31!!!-I gasped so loudly at the price-my bad for not asking when I ordered-another patron asked me if I was alright) I had a crab cake the day before at Bad Alfreds for 2/3 the price and it was really really really good! My husband ordered a chicken chopotle sandwich which was adequate at best-not very tasty. My husband was still eating when my dish was removed-really bad form. Would not recommend at all.

Two of us had lunch here on a beautiful day in St. Michael’s. The Galley has a nice outdoor area with tables and umbrellas. Staff was nice and the service was timely. That’s the good stuff…the prices were very high for average lunch food. $5 for an unsweetened iced tea; $16 for a roast beef & cheese sandwich with some chips. $31 market price for a crabcake sandwich & some chips. The crabcake had ZERO lumps - just flaked crabmeat. Two iced teas & two sandwiches with chips with 20% tip - $72.00. Yikes!!! In comparison- a restaurant in Baltimore County serves one of the best crabcakes in Baltimore; charges $27.99 for a crabcake platter - 8 oz full lump crab and two sides.

this is a popular place in a good location; it has a large terrace, and can accommodate large groups. the menu is quite diverse, but the food is rather disappointing. true, portions are big, but scramble eggs come as rubbery blocks of unseasoned yellow matter. quesadilla is bland and barely edible. their signature dish - crab cakes with home made Hollandaise - is much better (if you order it, it would be enough for two persons); the sauce did not seem to be home-made at all, though. the selection of coffee is disappointing (cold or hot). overall, you could do better that this.

At the height of tourist season with the Maritime Museum crowded, this restaurant closes at 2pm?????

Great for breakfasts! Try the pecan sticky buns and the burritos and dine on the outside patio for good people watching.

Two things attracted us to this place for breakfast: The fancy storefront, and the word "bakery". The actual food turned out to be a different story. Even though we went in right after they opened, they were already out of croissants, and all menu items with that. The bagels were stale and seemed store-bought. So much for "bakery"! The sticky bun was dry and not good tasting. Also, they took forever to serve. Don't recommend this place.

Let's start with the good: Bloody Mary Apple Caramel Sticky Bun Not so good: Sat inside to avoid the sun and heat. But inside was hot and stuffy and flies made the experience a bit miserable. Service was disappointing. Our server apologized for taking so long to get to us...then disappeared for several more minutes. This after being told that the restaurant was actually not that busy. No stops at the table to ask about a refill for my drink. Not good at all: The crab cake was comparable to a grocery store crab cake. Dry, salty, over mixed with no lump crab meat. And very small. The crab melt was marked as MP so I asked and was told $25. Our check came with the $30.25 price tag. No way was that a $30 dish. The "side" was kettle chips that seemed to be microwaved to warm. The breakfast potato with my husband's meal were actually tater tots like the Ore Ida kind. For the price, home made hash browns or fried potatoes should be served. We were told that the Benny my husband wanted was only available with scrambled egg. Even though other dishes include eggs prepared over easy, for instance. But that couldn't be done for the Benny. That was a real head scratcher. Overall, not a great experience for such a high price.

Great spot to sit outside on a beautiful morning while enjoying a great breakfast. From simple and quick eats to more filling foods. Eat while people watching on the main drag on Talbot Street.

Stopped in for late lunch, sat outside because the weather was beautiful. Took a few minutes for the concierge to notice us 8 feet from her dais. Then we waited, despite many open tables and waited some more while a few that came in after us received their meals. Really? 45 minutes and one inquiry later, we got our plates. (maybe we should have ordered alcohol? One meal was the chicken pot pie...outstanding!!!!! The other was 'coconut shrimp'....yikes. There was a giant full inverted bowl of white rice (16 oz by my experienced reckoning) topped with a sprinkling of black sesames. On the side in the shadows of the beast was 1 1/2 tablespoons of so so seaweed salad, sauces in plastic cups ON the plate with the food, then 5 very small 'coconut shrimp' that look and tasted precisely like Sea Pak's coconut shrimp. When the plate was dropped before us, the waitress informed us it was the fault of the shrimp that too so long. Hmmm...maybe they sent a busboy down the street to the freezer section of the local grocery to retrieve them. It was a hard pill to swallow particularly for the price, but I guess the entertainment of watching so many pretentious people strolling by and the concierge playing with her hair while taking pooch face selfies was worth it. At least the 100 years worth of peeling paint didn't fall into our food off the window we sat by. I'd never complain about good food and good service and the only reason I gave 2 stars was due to the well made pot pie.

Breakfast…fried eggs, RIGHT? Nope. One offering of runny eggs in a skillet that I think was done in a broiler. $$$ The kitchen is limited to simple items that are not great. Perhaps hiring a line cook from say, Waffle House…? And it is ridiculously expensive.

We happened upon The Galley when walking around during the Chocolate Fest and we were looking for a bite to eat. The restaurant offered seating indoors and outdoors and we opted for indoors. I had a bloody mary and the crab melt with chips and my boyfriend had the cream of crab. The meal and service were great, the crab melt was delicious and the cream of crab was more of a chowder consistency but very tasty. Restaurant was clean and service was good. We had the chocolate covered strawberries when we left and the strawberries were so juicy and ripe! We would definitely come back for a meal here in the future.

My wife and I stopped in for lunch. We were seated right away. Immediately noticed that they were very short staffed. So it took minutessssss to get any service. We ordered chicken pot pie. It was excellent. It came with a salad. Also very good. Two reasons for a three. Hardworking staff. Busting tail to get it done even if slow. Excellent food. Reasons it’s not higher. Expensive wine. In a dirty wine glass. Wait Bloody Mary was tasty but the garnishes were old. Not Instagram worth to say the least. Worth a try again in the “on- season”. ? Maybe….?

Stopped at the Galley for brunch on Sunday around 11:30am they were quite busy. We waited about 10 minutes and got a seat. We waited a very long time for a server to take our order (we nearly walked out and in hindsight that would have been the best decision to make). Our server took our order, which was two Bloody Marys, crab cake eggs Benedict, and captain Jim's which is a bagel with cream cheese lox, capers, and red onion. Both breakfasts came with tater tots. The Bloody Marys were very good. The Captain Jim's was good but it would have been nice to know the avocado was a $3 up charge when the server offered it. It came with an enormous portion of lox. Stay away from the crab cakes benedict. At $40 it is very pricey considering you get what is quite possibly the worst crab cakes on the shore sitting on top of what had to be powdered or egg liquid from a carton. Is it really that hard to poach a fresh egg? Everything is drenched in industrial strength hollandaise. The crab cakes had a sour taste, were almost certainly made from special crab meat and were loaded with shells. My wife and I swapped dishes so she could eat the bagel. I tried to finish the one crab cake she started but could not - it was that bad. Do yourself a favor and eat ANYWHERE else in St. Michaels, the Galley is expensive with slow service and terrible crab cakes.

The description for the Eggs Benedict with Crabcakes made this sound like a delectable selection. It wasn't. The crab was stringy and not worth the $38.25 we paid for each breakfast entree. This was overpriced for the quality plated. Also, the scrambled eggs sounded like an appealing alternative to poached eggs. They were very hard and not worth eating. My recommendation is to try another breakfast entree. Perhaps it will be more expertly prepared.

This lounge is beautiful! Great atmosphere and small plate food. The tempura is excellent. Highly recommend
