Two of us had lunch here on a beautiful day in St. Michael’s. The Galley has a nice outdoor area with tables and umbrellas. Staff was nice and the service was timely. That’s the good stuff…the prices were very high for average lunch food. $5 for an unsweetened iced tea; $16 for a roast beef & cheese sandwich with some chips. $31 market price for a crabcake sandwich & some chips. The crabcake had ZERO lumps - just flaked crabmeat. Two iced teas & two sandwiches...
this is a popular place in a good location; it has a large terrace, and can accommodate large groups. the menu is quite diverse, but the food is rather disappointing. true, portions are big, but scramble eggs come as rubbery blocks of unseasoned yellow matter. quesadilla is bland and barely edible. their signature dish - crab cakes with home made Hollandaise - is much better (if you order it, it would be enough for two persons); the sauce did not seem to be home-made at all, though....
Great spot to sit outside on a beautiful morning while enjoying a great breakfast. From simple and quick eats to more filling foods. Eat while people watching on the main drag on Talbot Street.
