It’s taken me a while to write this review, but I felt it was important to share my experience.
First, I want to give credit where it’s due … the two young women working at the front of the shop were incredibly sweet and helpful. They were the highlight of my visit when I ordered a cake for my son’s graduation.
Unfortunately, my overall experience was overshadowed by the behavior of the baker, who I believe is the owner. She came across as impatient, irritated, and dismissive …not just toward me, but also toward the young woman working the register (who I believe might be her niece, based on how she addressed her).
As a customer, I felt uncomfortable and unvalued. At first, I thought it might just be her personality, or that she was perhaps having a bad day but I couldn’t help but notice a shift in her demeanor when a white couple came in. She suddenly became warm, cordial, and even smiled, something I hadn’t seen her do at all up until that point. I don’t like to jump to conclusions, but the contrast was hard to ignore. To top it all off, the owner is also Black, which made the experience even more disappointing and confusing … we should be lifting each other up, not making each other feel unwelcome.
To make matters worse, the cake itself was dry and disappointing, which made the entire experience feel like a letdown.
I don’t enjoy writing negative reviews, but I hope this feedback is received constructively. Every customer should feel valued

Just visited Sweet Eden for the first time and was not disappointed! The cupcakes were delicious, and the kids loved their cake pops. I’ll definitely be back the next time I’m in Severn.

OMG! The best vegan birthday cake ever! The lemon cake with buttercream icing was moist and had the perfect amount of lemon flavor. It was a huge hit amongst vegans and non vegans. Thank you!
