NOT part of a chain. Absolutely the best doughnuts in northern Anne Arundel county! A great spot for a grandfather and grands local outing. They are open 24hours except when they run out of doughnuts and that does happen occasionally typically on the weekends and holidays. The shop appears be owned by folks who care about their community.

I took my young daughter here for a special reward for something she accomplished at school. We normally get Dunkin after school, but I wanted to take her somewhere better.
This place is definitely somewhere better. The donuts are so many steps above donuts at Dunkin and Krispy Kreme. The atmosphere is that of a vintage donut/coffee shop with multicolored stools set in front of a long serpentine counter where you can eat your donuts and drink your coffee. Me and my daughter had such a great time here and will definitely be coming back.

Went today for the first time and loved the apple fritter I had. Got 12 to go and am excited to try them and the pricing is very reasonable esp for the quality. The staff were also friendly and helpful.
11.14.24 Super Apple fritter! Ashlyn knows the history of ownership issues & the goods. A gracious & knowledgeable host. Feel completely confident that "The Shack" is back! And even considering revisiting 24 hour operations. Can't wait to come back for a "strawberry shortcake" donut-highly recommended by the 2 distinguished gentlemen seated at the counter with us. Obvious Donut Shack connoisseurs! Thanks for a great visit!

My pregnant wife want donuts and every donut places were closed at 2pm except donut shack. We made the drive from Annapolis and was not disappointed with these donuts. You can tell they are made fresh compared to Dunkin and other donuts places. This place had a good variety of donuts. Service was also excellent. Highly recommend their donuts and thank you for staying open past noon so that my pregnant wife can have her snack.

Today I stopped by the Donut Shack to pick up donuts for my wife’s work and to take my parents, who are visiting from Alaska to get some donuts. The two ladies that were working this morning were phenomenal. We were getting two dozen donuts and Ashlyn (I think that was her name) was great in helping us out. She suggested the standard donuts and also suggested some of their seasonal ones to try too. My parents were impressed with the service and when we got home and they finally tried the donuts they loved them. My mom had to ban my dad from eating more because he liked them so much. My wife’s work was extremely happy and surprised when we dropped them off. Just wanted to give a big shout out to them for making our day better.
Shout to the best bakery in the DMV. Make sure you ask for Austin or one of the 2 other young guys (sorry didn’t get your names lol) behind the counter. Excellent customer service over the phone and even better in person. After that day my daughter has decided she no longer wants to go to that other donut place (no name) you on see on TV anymore. Best Donut ? Ever she says.
