10/10 would visit again. The cotton candy wine slushy was delicious. The wine flight was great. I even grabbed a bottle of the Catawba to bring home. Plus they have a great selection of snacks (fries, hummus, paninis, charcuterie, etc.)! It ended up being cold and rainy during our visit but it was warm and cozy in the igloo.

Absolutely wonderful experience. We booked an igloo for a birthday event and everything from the scenery to the staff far exceeded anything we had expected. We can't wait and are already are making plans for our next trip out! Huge thank you to the staff for making us feel so at home and if you haven't gone yet, I highly recommend getting out there as soon as you can!

Nestled among the winding roads of Smithsburg, Maryland, we serendipitously discovered Red Heifer Winery—a charming haven with panoramic vistas and wines that breathe in the crisp mountain air. Whether you lean toward the sweetness of a Blanc or the allure of a dry varietal, Red Heifer caters to all wine enthusiasts. My personal favorite, the Blanc de Franc, it bridged the gap between my husband’s love for reds and my own fondness for spunky, fruity whites. The winery staff welcomed us with open arms, their warmth matching the inviting ambiance. As we nibbled on elegantly displayed snacks, we reveled in the cozy comfort of an igloo—a snug retreat against the breezy day. I cannot sing enough praises for this hidden gem. So, if you ever yearn for a leisurely drive down a country road, Red Heifer Winery is an absolute must-visit! ??

Had a great afternoon here! Eli, a new server, was attentive, knowledgeable and super sweet! He made our afternoon very enjoyable. Wines are great and definitely don’t miss the wine slushy. Cute and small winery to spend a relaxing afternoon!

The no children policy is ridiculous. Ya'll allow dogs but no kids? My baby girl is better behaved than most of the loud and obnoxious patrons.

I went here with a group of my coworkers for one of the girls birthdays, and let me tell you we had the most amazing time!!! We tried the cotton candy wine slushy, the sweet wine flight (the blueberry wine was incredible), and the cheese fries were the best I ever had. Oh and the house made chips were one of a kind. I have nothing but good things to say about our experience. The igloos were cozy and magical. 10/10 girls night and I can't wait to make another trip.

We rented an Igloo on 01/14/24 and our group had an amazing time. Our waitress was Rachel and she was so attentive, personable, and had a great attitude all night. She really is amazing at her job and we appreciated everything she did for us the entire evening. I have been to the winery multiple times and the group I brought was the first time each of them had been here. We will all 100% be back as return customers and will spread the word of have beautiful the location is and how wonderful the staff are. Thanks for an amazing time!

Overall we had a lovely, cozy time watching the sunset behind our igloo. Our server Rachel was friendly and took pictures for us which was so sweet. This winery is in the mountain so a steep driveway is to be expected. I thought it was a really cool drive. The lookout is beautiful. The igloo had the most COMFORTABLE chairs. The igloo even had an electric fireplace. Great ambience. I still used a blanket, I’m not sure if the fireplace could have been turned up more but it was still decently warm. Two and a half hours was a nice time slot to relax and enjoy but I did wish reservation could extend longer, especially granted that the minimum to spend per person is $40, PLUS the $35 to reserve the igloo. Granted this is a business and they are powering the igloo, this is understandable. With appropriate gratuity, the minimum 4 people can spend is $224. We had already bought food prior to realizing this fine print, so we opted to take home bottles instead, which turned out well because their wine IS delicious. Our group enjoyed every single wine we tried. For $18, the wine flight was a generous amount, unlike other places. You do get a generous amount here for what you pay for, which is a nice change from the normal stingy pours you usually get at some wineries. The bathrooms are a few steps up from port a potties, it’s a trailer and it does have sinks. On a mountain, this type of accommodation is understandable and to be expected. It was clean. The only thing we were dissatisfied about was the cream of crab soup. All cream and butter, 0 lump crab meat.Other than that, Rachel made our celebratory time special. I will come back here again, for sure. Thank you Red Heifer!

My bridesmaids brought me here for a little bachelorette, a week before my wedding. The igloos were super nice and it was great to decompress some wedding stress. Everything I got was amazing. Rachel, our server was fantastic and I’d come back to see her again! Highly recommend. The views are great too!
