Food was ok nothing super special everything with chicken was over cook price for the amount of food was not well balance I felt they was high priced for what you got but staff was great which made up for the food a lot

My grandsons and I had lunch at the Los Amigos in Thurmont. The restaurant was recommended to us. The dining experience was delightful. The service was wonderful and the meal was delicious! All three meals were great. We had 10' steak burrito, faijito steak nachos, a tamale, and 4 rolled chicken burritos plus 3 drinks. The restaurant was clean and festively decorated. We enjoyed every minute and will be back another day.

The fajita steak chimichanga was tiny... 6 inches maybe at best. The rice and beans on the side were pathetic...about 9 or 10 small bites. $17 for what should have been around $5. After this and an $8 draft and a 20% tip I paid $34 to eat at the bar. I have never posted a review about a restaurant before but this was a total rip off. Mexican food has always been inexpensive and generous portions were a given in my 55 years of experience in every state and in Mexico. The food was good as far as taste...how could it not be covered in cheese sour cream and guacamole. Very disappointed!!! I guess not only do they jack up the price but reduce the amount of product too. To make ends meet? I am not a cheap patron ever but it sure feels like I was ripped off. I tipped 20% which I do when the service is poor. If they took care of me the bartender would have seen a 50% tip. Thats how I roll because I made my living off tips for 30 years. So unfortunately we all lose in this situation. I will not return, the bartender missed an excellent tip and I got ripped off! A lose lose,lose all around. What a shame.

After getting recommendations for this restaurant I decided to give it a try. The food is pretty good, but some of it came out cold. The service was extremely bad. The girl was more interested in the host stand then waiting on her guests. I don't think the poor service outweighs the food, so I won't be going back.

Great food! Many unique dishes you won't find anywhere else. 32 oz margarita will render you unable to drive, make sure you don't need the driver going home. Service was great. Would go back but we were just traveling through, prob won't go by there again. We were looking for a place for dinner. They are very close to the highway for a quick on and off. Seems to be a well run family operation. We had to eat outside though because it was too noisy inside.

Chase did a fantastic job from greeting us like family as we walked in, to helping with the menu selections and being kind and courteous throughout our meal. We are from Annapolis but will definitely be back the next time we are in the Thurmont area. Thanks again Chase!!

I have been looking for a Mexican restaurant to take the place of LaPaz 🥰 Extremely sadden for the closing since earlier this year 2025 of 40 years strong) 😭
Searching for the right one and my favorite has taken me to Los Amigos in Thurmont!! My 1st experience with the business was years ago visiting the one across the street from Police Station in Hagerstown 👍
I hugely encourage to visit Los Amigos in Thurmont!! You shouldn't be disappointed! Even the margaritas are v e r y good!!

Waiting on Online ordering sucks. Online says 45mins. Took an hour and 10 mins before food was ready. When I first walked in took 5+ mins to get a a staff member to acknowledge I was there and then said the food isn’t ready yet without saying how long to expect it to be out. Which when I got there it was at the 45 min mark. So I waited an extra 20 mins before I was acknowledged again and asked when will it be ready and it took another 5 mins. Just ridiculous.

Oh and all I got was two soft tacos and one quesadilla! Which all seemed cold like they were sitting out and they made me wait for it

Didnt really enjoy this place. For a mexican restaurant it took forever for our food to come out and the place was basically dead. Our server wasnt good. Took forever for him to get me a refill. Got the guacamole as an appetizer. Not impressed by it. 2/10. They messed up my order and it took forever for them to get me the correct order. Took so long that my date was already finished eating. So I just took mine to go. Won't be back.
