The Hunt Valley location has terrible service and they serve stale frozen cheesecake, ripping you a fortune for cardboard made in china. No refund, no apologies. Manager refused yo acknowledge/refund.

Having just returned from Japan and experienced authentic matcha in Kyoto, I must say Kyoto Matcha in Towson is a 10/10. The flavors are rich, perfectly balanced, and transport you straight to Japan—authentic without being too sweet. The Ube cake was also exceptional, easily a 10/10. Rachel at the front provided detailed recommendations for both drinks and desserts, and her expertise made the experience even better. They also have games to play with friends and family while you enjoy a drink/desert. I’ll definitely be back!

Stopped by this cute shop for a post-dinner dessert and tried their mochi milk cap cake. It was not bad, but I recommend ordering another option since the desserts I’ve tried before were better (especially the mousse cakes or layer cakes). The server was quite nice, and the atmosphere/interior was lovely. I may come back to try some other desserts, but it’s a bummer that I did not like my cake.

The Kyoto Matcha dessert restaurant offers a unique experience for matcha lovers. With a modern and cozy atmosphere, the place specializes in creative desserts that showcase the use of high-quality matcha. From ice creams and cakes to parfaits and mochis, each creation is carefully crafted to highlight the distinctive flavor of Japanese green tea. The desserts are not only delicious but also visually stunning, making them a delight for both the palate and the eyes. It's the perfect destination to enjoy a sweet moment with a touch of Japanese tradition.

My partner & I loved this restaurant, we’ve visited many locations multiple times a month for the past few years. We’ve spent so much money with this business. I’ve always looked forward to it as matcha ice cream is my favorite dessert. Tonight (8/21/24) we dined in as usual & after we finished up I walked up to the register & asked the cashier if they offered a cash back option during transactions as I intended to make another purchase. The Asian cashier looked me, rolled her eyes, & ignored me. She rudely walked away from me & IMMEDIATELY kindly attended to an Asian patron BEHIND me. For more context my partner & I are Black. In shock I just stood there thinking it was a misunderstanding, that she’d come back but she didn’t. She continued on helping every. Other. Customer. Like I wasn’t there. After waiting I asked had she not heard me speaking to her. She rudely & dismissively told me she did hear me & they don’t have cash back. I genuinely don’t understand why I was treated this way. My question was not rude nor was it out of place at all for a cashier at a business. In shock I left the establishment momentarily but went back after a few minutes as I really couldn’t believe that had just happened. I asked her why she treated me that way as I was kind & respectful to her, as I was like any other customer. She told me it was because she was helping customers as if I wasn’t a customer AS WELL. As if I hadn’t JUST spent money with the business, as if I wasn’t trying to spend MORE money at Kyoto Matcha. My money spends just like anyone else’s. She continued to ignore me as if I was the problem despite how she was treating me. She apologized only after I forwardly asked her if she was not sorry because I really couldn’t believe any of this was happening. The cherry on top was the entire establishment looking at me as if I was the aggressor in the situation per usual despite the fact that throughout the entire ordeal I kept my composure. I didn’t treat the cashier the rude disgusting way she treated me nor did I ever want to. Black people your money nor your presence is valued at Kyoto Matcha. Disheartened, I will never support this business again. Non Black POC being racist to Black people will never not be ironic. I’m disappointed but never surprised.

Kyoto Matcha is a great place to hang out and get some treats. My personal favorites are the matcha parfait and the matcha float! However, their desserts have been quite disappointing. From the matcha cheese cake and matcha tiramisu having no matcha flavor, to the matcha chocolate being overwhelmingly sweet, it seems as if the only good dessert I’ve tried here is the matcha ice cream (it’s delicious!).

I got an ube towel cake for 9.89 and it is over priced. It tastes like ube but 8 of those dollars went into the visuals. It’s a fun dessert to try but find something else. The staff were friendly and the place is clean and nice to hang out in. There are a lot of things to try.

Wheelchair accessibility: There is a ramp and the entrance has no steps. The place is spacious except the hallway to the bathroom. There are moveable chairs to make space for a wheelchair.

Was a go to spot for the same cup every time I went and for today to come in and get this for the same price and half the cup is very disrespectful
when you asked why it’s not full they look at you all crazy and say that’s how it always comes lol

Used to be my favorite spot for soft serve matcha ice cream. The older lady and young ladies at the counter are so nice. Went in today, a young man emerged from the back room, did not wash his hands, grabbed an unwrapped ice cream cone and tossed it from hand to hand, playing with it. The young man was not wearing gloves. I advised him that I needed a wrapped and untouched cone as it was not sanitary, he refused to respond verbally. NO I’m sorry, I’ll get you a new one, he just looked at me as if I was wrong for expecting him to follow minimal food safety guidelines.
