This is the worst ramen place I've ever been to. I felt compelled to write a bad review. I ordered the Stamina Ramen. The broth was mediocre, like they used instant ramen's packet. The portion was hilariously small. The total amount of pork wasn't even half an ounce. The way they made the poached egg... How should I say it? It was worse than what my dad could do and he doesn't even know how to cook! All of that for $18. Insane!

We got the stamina bowl and bakudan ramen. Both were super good. The bakudan ramen wasn’t unbearably spicy which I was happy about. We also got the curry bun and gyoza which were warm and delicious. Definitely recommend this place!

I saw the Japanese imperial flag last time I went in 2020 and next to it was pamphlets about how all the things Japanese imperial government did was a lie to suppress Japan and its people, comfort women, camp, and etc.

I spoke to the owner/manager and they said they did not know what it was and that they would remove it. But I still did not actively go back as I was repulsed by the whole incident.

*FYI: Japanese imperialist flag, considered to be the Nazi flag of Korea, China, and others in East and Southeast Asia.*

I was with groups of people who wanted to eat there, so I followed. And was really upset to see that it was still there.

The food is good(not great), but the portion size and quality was different from last time I had it in 2020. There are other, non-imperialist, Japanese Ramen shop that are better in DMV.

This was DELICIOUS. It’s so unassuming that I never would have picked it, but my husband wanted to try it. It’s some of the best Ramen I’ve had in the DMV and we will definitely be back!!

The best ramen in the area and probably the best tan tan men I had in my life. We always go there whenever we visit DC. Parking is little difficult but there are some street paid parking on the street.

Have been going here for years and loved the food, but the service has left such a poor taste that I won’t be returning.

1st instance had come and had a baby in our party of 3 adults and were told we could not feed him his baby food due to their no outside food policy.

Still gave them a chance and continued to patronize.

2nd instance, there was human hair in my bowl of ramen. We had to flag down server to get his attention (this place is the size of a postage stamp so he wasn’t being attentive at all). He took it with no apology and brought back another bowl. Then I had to get out of my seat to call him from the kitchen for another issue.

He came and brought the check but didn’t check on us not once for refills or anything (we were there 2hrs).

Lastly, as I was leaving the cook came outside to tap on my car window and ask why the tip was so low. I told him the service was poor and that I wasn’t required to tip at all. He made no apology.

Sad because I really loved this place until this experience.

Is some of the best Ramen around the area

Josh Harders

Food was extremely salty, like you literally taste the sodium.

Hai Ngo

Food too salty and not much taste. Only got one thin slice of pork.

We have been enjoying Ren Ramen for years. My favorite is the Miso Tan Tan. My husband and I called on our way in today ( Friday night) to make sure they were open and were told that they closed the kitchen at 8:50 p.m. The person on the phone said that as long as we got there before that they would serve us. The website says they're open until 9:00 p.m. on Friday. When we were about 5 minutes away we called to place the order over the phone for eat in. Someone took our order. A few minutes later I got a call right as we were parking saying that we won't be able to eat in and that they only do carry out at this point. I told them that we were parking and walked in. It was 8: 40. Again, They told us they could only do take out saying they had slow night. We tried takeout once before and since we live a while away it did not fare well by the time we got home. They did end up agreeing to serve us but needless to say we ate in a hurry, the ramen which is usually top-notch was not as good and the gyoza tasted like it was heated up in the microwave. It was absolutely horrible to eat feeling as if someone's doing you a favor. And it's not cheap either. The Ramen was $20 for one and $23 for the other and our bill was $66 and change including a $10 tip. We walked out the door at 9:02 p.m. There was so much fuss for absolutely no reason. If they DO not want to serve people after a certain time they should post that time on the website as the closing time. This experience left a bad taste in our mouth - pun intended. We have brought so many friends there and told so many people to go there. It's time to find a new ramen place. Ren Ramen has become complacent.

Ren's Ramen is my favorite. They have a simple menu, focusing on the Sapporo style ramen. I've been coming here since it opened at the current location in Wheaton. Ren's ramen bowls have a deep and layered flavor in its broth, with perfectly textured noodles; he gets his noodles from Japan and ages it himself.

Very unassuming spot nessled in between a Thai restaurant and a Chinese take out joint. The Sapporo style ramen is full of flavor and truly satisfying. The seasoned poached egg was particularly tasty and the Gyoza was an excellent appetizer.

The food is good but not great. Portions are somewhat small and toppings are very stingy. Expect to pay street parking unless you get lucky. Not likely to return.
