First time trying food is very delicious. I travel to Jamaica very often and this food has a very good authentic carrebean flavor. Best in the Waldorf LaPlata area. When I eat jerk you can tell the deference between the Spices.

This place should be rated much higher than it is. Their brown stewed chicken may be the best thing I've ever put in my mouth, and the cabbage was phenomenal too. Perfectly balanced spices, tons of flavor, and the chicken was incredibly tender. It's stewed bone-in, so expect some small bone shards.
This does seem to be primarily a takeout place. The dining area is tiny, and all the tables and chairs were stacked haphazardly against the wall. I did come in less than an hour before closing, so maybe that was why. The service was fine if unenthusiastic. The quality of the food more than made up for it though.
Everyone should try this food at least once, even if they don't think they care for Jamaican food. Phenomenal seems like an understatement.

Ordered jerk chicken which was supposed to be made to order. The chicken did not look like the picture on the online menu. The meat was hard to cut with a knife. It felt and tasted rubbery because it was undercooked. They poured some extra, extra spicy jerk sauce on it but it seems they did not put it on a grill for that slow cooking authentic jerk flavor.

I DoorDash sometimes to make extra money to supplement my income, and I went here to pick up an order for delivery and I asked the elderly lady at the desk could I use the restroom, she said abruptly “NO” it’s only for customers and rudely told me “your DoorDash order isn’t ready. *Common Sense would tell ANYONE that I’m a customer because I’m picking up a Paid Order!!!🤨 I couldn’t believe what I was hearing so I asked her again and she gave me this look 👀 like I was a 13 year old Thug or something and said again “no you can’t use the restroom” and “No It’s Not Ready”…… now when I come across people like this I don’t get into ANY verbal confrontation or argument with them I just LEAVE, and as I was backing out to leave she had the audacity to come outside and holler at me saying “it’s ready now”. COME ON REALLY??? 🤨 it really hurts as a (black man) in America to get this kind of attitude and treatment from my Own People that are “older than me” and I’m 62 years old. (Tell me How do you expect to Operate a Successful Business and you don’t like the people who are patronizing your business???) I’ve been a homeowner for almost 3 years out here in Waldorf, Maryland and I thought this was going to be a restaurant that me and my wife could plan to visit. They can forget about that.*People We Have To Do Better! Edit: I did try this place without reading the reviews. I'm glad I did. Yes there was a wait. I was informed it would be 30-35 minutes for my two dinners and some sides. Okay, I'm trying the spot - why not. It was made fresh! Don't get me wrong, yeah I might have to call ahead next time, but to know my food was made right then and there is everything. Yes it was a little on high side for price, but like everything else - it's high.
I recommend calling ahead. Phi was amazing to deal with.
Super excited about this place. Phi had excellent customer service and was able to help me with my order. I look forward to visiting again soon.
