An Unforgettable Culinary Experience – 5 Stars

From start to finish, this restaurant delivered an exceptional dining experience — easily one of the best meals I’ve had all year.

It began with a unique oyster shell–infused martini that was crisp, briny, and utterly original — a perfect aperitif that set the tone for what followed.

The heirloom gazpacho was vibrant and refreshing, followed by a mid-summer green salad full of snap peas and tender greens. The balance of sweet and bitter in the dressing was masterful — every bite had purpose and flavor.

For the mains, the lamb kofta was perfectly spiced and juicy, while the short ribs were melt-in-your-mouth tender — rich, comforting, and full of depth.

Dessert truly sealed the deal: a chocolate espresso ganache made with almond flour, so delicate yet decadent, served with a refreshing sorbet. A flawless finish to an extraordinary meal.

Highly recommend for food lovers seeking flavor, creativity, and attention to detail in every course. Will absolutely return again and again when in Maine. We only wish they were closer to home in NY.

We took our san and his wife here, they really wanted to go and had heard great things. First- Parking was a nightmare, finally parked in the mud partially in the road. Walking from the car to the front door took us past the dumpsters, not appealing.
We had to wait over 30 min for our reserved table and were told we could wait at the bar. Once we stepped over to the bar, we were told to wait in the market area and our order would be taken there. We did get a great recommend for a bottle of wine.
Once seated, it took an extremely long time to get the appetizer and our mains came staggered (four of us) about 30 minutes later. The waits for dishes had no flow at all. It was a mystery when one might show up. We were not able to wait for everyone to get served or our dishes would have gotten cold.
Service was so slow one might think they are being pranked.
The food- the raw oysters, kimchi, asparagus and bread and butter were great.
The chicken dish was okay. The breast was way overcooked and dry, the thigh was good. There were too many sauces that most didn’t add to the dishes. The tarragon was not appetizing at all.
The Lamb Kebob was good but nothing special.
The halibut was good but the sauce had no flavor as did the vegetables.
The atmosphere is loud and too crowded, it was had to even have a conversation at our table.
The experience was a disappointment for the coat.

What a STELLAR meal! Highlights included: (i) fresh local oysters, (ii) broiled Maine scallops, (iii) lamb skewers, and (iv) ALL of the desserts!!! Everything was fantastic!

The vibe is super cozy. Clearly so much love going into everything. We really appreciated that all of the Alna Store’s food is curated with an emphasis on local and sustainable sources. Truly a special place! We look forward to making it back again! Thank you!!!!

As a longtime patron, stoked for their success. They do not hold space for walk-ins anymore. Service has gotten gruff since Jasper and Brian stepped back.

This place was magical! The food was phenomenal and creative; not just your regular menu. I had the best Thai larb I have ever had in my life and the fries were superb. The small market had wonderful products all curated perfectly and items you don’t see at every cute boutique you’ve been to. Thanks for a really wonderful experience!!!

This is NOT The Alna Store. Make up a new name for your silly restaurant I will gladly remove review and let people waste their money more peacefully without being misled. RIP REAL ALNA STORE

Consistency is great. Servers could have more knowledge of the menu. But food is always good.

Incredibly hectic and loud environment exacerbated by nearby baby throwing up and restaurant staff not helping the clean up. Waited thirty minutes past reservation time to be seated and waited forty minutes between appetizer and main. The $48 Brazilian steak was tough, dry and tasteless. Overall, a terrible experience. An earlier brunch experience was not much better. The bloom is off the rose.
